HIV Gene Therapy
(1/1)
jimbalaya:
Greetings all!
I live near-ish to the Orlando area, and there's an immunology center that's running trials for HIV Gene Therapy, the only requirements are that you be on HART, be UD, and clean/sober....I was wondering if anyone here has experience being in a trial, or what your thoughts were...I'm very new to all of this, but am intrigued in being a part of something that could help others.
Thanks,
Jim

I would love to enter the trial. Anyway you can link me to them. I don't mind traveling.

Perfectly;
There are a few long threads (see Zinc Finger Proteins and Sangamo topics) on gene therapy in the "Research News & Studies" forum that you may be interested in if you haven't already looked at them. While I don't recall any folks on the board being in these studies, there was a post that referenced HIV/AIDS activist Matt Sharp blogging about his participation (see the post info below).
I wish you well and look forward to hearing how this proceeds for you, JM
