Daily practice...
« on: October 04, 2006, 08:13:11 PM »
I wrote this October 15th, 2002.  I think it comes from a desire to always be a better person.  I wanted to give it to you today...

Day to day goals-

Care for the self.

Eating to sustain life (what does your body need to function day to day.)  Keep eating for pleasure to a minimum (stuff that tastes good=high fat, sugar etc. and contributes to top killers like heart disease and cancer.)

Exercise, keep active physically.

Play.

Meditate or Pray.

Busy yourself with rest, meditation and contemplation.

Avoid reliance of substances- caffeine, tobacco, alcohol and other drugs.

Know the self.

Be open minded, mix up and challenge roles.  Be a teacher and a student.  Be a child and a parent, etc.

Learn new things.  Study, grow, buy books and explore your interests.  Learn from great men and woman- the philosophers, artists, scientists, world leaders, religious leaders, etc.

Spend time in the natural environment.  Watch the world around you change and grow.

Stay active, keep yourself busy, create projects that challenge and stimulate your imagination.

Care for others.

Cultivate a sense of something greater than yourself.

Cultivate a sense of togetherness with other people and beings around the world.

Give-perform thoughtless service to others.

Develop your capacity to love.

Live simply, take what little you need and leave for those in need.

Hi All,

BTW- these words may sound great, but I am certainly no angel... I fail miserably in some of these areas...
