Illegal to sell extra medications??
« on: August 24, 2012, 05:22:57 PM »
My doctor just switched me off of Reyatz the day after my pharmacy filled my script of Reyataz for another 90 days so I have 3 bottles of Reyataz I can't use and which the pharmacy can't take back.  Is it illegal for me to try and sell these bottles of Reyataz I can't use?  I'm unemployed so it's tempting.

Of course it's illegal.

If you give them to someone who truly needs them it would make Jesus happy and you can earn extra points to do something naughty .

Exactly WHO do you think wants to buy HIV drugs???  Besides being illegal.  Besides being immoral and tacky. It doesn't seem feasible.

Oooh, dontcha know? HIV meds are the new bath salts.  :/

I've got a big bottle of sulfa meds to which I happen to be allergic. The frugal part of me just doesn't want to have to recycle them at the next 'bring us your pills' event at our local dump. But that's where they'll be heading.

An aside: I always wonder if the county has to fight off applicants and volunteers for these days due in the hopes they can 'stock up' on their favorite recreational stimulants. I really don't want to know the answer to that.
Reality is frequently inaccurate.

Sad thing is, some may be hoping to score some needed prescription meds that they cannot afford to buy, despite needing them. Hmmmm....

I actually was thinking about this the other day, not about selling my meds but giving them to someone who is on my old regime.

I have 4 months supply of Kivexa, Atazanavir and Ritonavir. My Doctor said they aren't allowed to take them back even though they are all sealed and perfect!

Seems such a waste, I have switched to Eviplera.

Is anyone from the Uk on this forum and on those meds? Would they take them from me do you think?

here is my two cents about this question:

If Iclaudius, wants to sell his extra medication the price he bought them, i don t think it is that bad.

Of course a free donation is always better, but if he doesn't make any profits on it, i don t see where is the problem (and it might helsp some people to have a better price on their medication).

Frenchie - that guy posted once and disappeared when peopled poopoo'd his idea. What a display of care for this community!

And you must have a crystal ball since he doesn't mention WHO paid for the drugs he wanted to sell...

And finally, zombie thread.

it was an example, about sailing your medication without profit.

I think some of us pay much more the same medication than others. Another example: some of us live in country where they can order generic medication.

In a perfect world, where no one is selfish, off course giving your extra medication for free should be the only way. But nowadays you are  not sure that when it will be your turn to need help that someone will provide it.

Ok in general and looking at the problem globally, I agree with you.  Drug prices and access is a big mess.

However if the OP had Reyataz, it would be highly unlikely he personally paid for that out of pocket. So if he had sold it, whoever paid, would have been ripped off.  But yeah maybe a buyer might be a jam..

I know retirees on limited income in Switzerland who sell prescription meds on the street for cash...  Not HIV drugs, though...

Its my personal opinion that selling HIV meds that have already been paid for is just simply wrong . If it were a car or diamond ring ... its rather obvious to me .

Its also against the law , I have no problem giving them away which is illegal too but if I ever found out anyone was trying to sell meds on this site I would move heaven and hell to see them banned for life .

And Im locking this thread .
