Medco would not take the copay card for my Atripla. I called the number on the back of the copay card and they sent me a reimbursement form in the mail. I had to order my prescription from Medco and pay my deductible. Sent my receipt in with the reimbursement form and received a check for my deductible paid to Medco in about two weeks...yeah.

Thanks for the info. I thought they didn't accept it. Did they give you a reason why?

They said my employer plan did not allow. It wouldn't hurt for you to call Medco and ask.

although medco doesn't accept copay assistance; their specialty pharmacy does, but only 30 days at a time, its called prescription solutions, medco's operator should be able to put you in touch

I admit that I have no experience with this subject thread.

I must, however, inquire as I just noticed Zach's avatar and must inquire. Are you giving that dear goat a brewsky?  You are awful.   ;D

I have BC-BS and live in KS. I use Medco for a few drugs but not my HIV meds.

I have copay assistance on Truvada, Norvir and Presista.

I had a email conversation with a Medco CSR who couldn't understand what a copay assistance program was, let alone how to apply it to any potential mail-order scripts. All she would reply was that Medco didn't accept any coupons through its mail-order pharmacy.

I spoke with a Care Coordinator with the KS Dept. of Health and Environment (awesome fellow BTW) who told me that Medco does accept copay assistance but due to the cost of the meds, only ship you a 30-day supply at a time. I didn't see any advantage to this, so I have continued having my scripts filled locally every 30 days. These are Tier I meds, so they don't penalize me for having them filled locally more than three times a year.

YMMV.
Reality is frequently inaccurate.

Thanks for the info but I ended up not even using Medco. My doctor ended up sending the prescription to a pharmacy that she works closely with. And I think the I/T COPAY pretty much covere my costs.
