Hey Keven,

I went to the ER at St. Mary's, many years ago with PCP and found I needed an isolation bed.  Harbor General was full at the time so I was placed in isolation at St. Mary's.  On my first day, a Nurse came in to my room to tell me...  We remember you from all your visits to Charley and I want you to know, we are going to give you the same care and treatment we gave to your friend.

The Care Clinic at St. Mary's was the first non-profit in the U.S. to offer HIV specific services, the model was copied nationwide.  I was assigned to Dr. Scheneberger who was Medical Director for The Care Clinic at St. Mary's but with his children in medical school, he and his wife moved to Africa about 15 years ago to open an HIV clinic there.

The Care Clinic at St. Mary's also operates The Care Program at St. Mary's and Care Dental.  There is the best medical care, a top-notch ASO and Care Dental.  I would recommend giving the Care Clinic and the Care Program a call to set up an intake appointment.  They are the first and the best   8)  Have the best day
Michael

I put together a list of private infectious disease specialists in Long Beach that take private insurance, all four public clinics, plus information on support groups and other services in the community. The packet is primarily for newly diagnosed, but it's also helpful for those who are new to the area. If you write me at Michael.Buitron@DignityHealth.org I can send you the most recent version of the packet. You can also get one from my office. I'm at http://careprogram.org/, 411 E. 10th Street, Suite 107, Long Beach, CA 90813
