I'm wondering how she's supposed to obtain ID if she literally can never find her birth certificate.

Sometimes I am embarrassed by the fact I am from PA. This lady should be able to vote without ID, heck everyone at the voting polls probably know her, and most of the poll places are at churchs, senior citizens centers, and schools.

I wonder if the Amish vote, and if they need ID to vote if they do.  They don't get drivers licenses, because they don't need them to drive horse and buggies.

This is happening in numerous Republican controlled state legislatures. Not sure why the OP is focusing on one particular state.

The Amish don't vote, and this is from my hubby Bob, he comes from Amish-country in up-state NY  ;)

True.  Indiana has had the voter ID law for quite a while.

I'm focusing on Pennsylvania because Pennsylvania is the state in which the person who the focus of the article is about resides.  Are you dense?

The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruled today (4-2) on the Voter ID Law, putting it in jeaopardy. They vacated the lower court ruling (which was based on some obscure, laughable 18th century case, in typical conservatard manner) and returned it to the Commonwealth Court for an assessment on easy access to ID cards. The ruling also stated that if the state can't prove that voters can easily get these new cards, that they will block it from going into effect.

Send a copy of 2 documents such as utility bill, phone bill etc and a copy of SS card to Vital records and they will SEND you your birth certificate (at least in Tx), then you go get a photo ID.  :o

I dont understand how people walk around without any ID???

Edited to add: I see now that in this situation the state cannot find her Birth certificate, so the above will not work for her.
