Are these ARS symptoms?
« on: May 01, 2012, 01:22:57 PM »
    Hi everyone,

So I posted on here before worrying about my risk of contracting HIV. I've been assured that my risk of contracting HIV is incredibly low by some moderators on this forum, since the only possible exposure I had was through precum in my mouth (which I spat out). I don't believe I had any cuts or lesions, but there's always the possibility I may have.

In any case, here is a summary of what I've had symptomatically since my sexual encounter:

1 day after possible exposure: loss of appetite (has been consistent until now)

3 days after possible exposure: irritated throat, nodular lymph tissue in back of throat is "clearly working", as the doctor put it. No swollen lymph nodes. No pain talking, swallowing, e.t.c. (still remains to this day). Doctor says it's not a bacterium causing my throat problems, it has to be a virus.

4 days after possible exposure: very slight fever (not at all like the flu); general warm feeling. Went away after sleeping. Reoccured two or three times, but went away. No problem.

11 days after possible exposure: blotcy red skin in arms and occasionally the chest. Characterized by flakiness. Gets worse at some points, by then fades away at others. I put lotion on it and it was virtually gone. Got an HIV test and it was -.

12 days after possible exposure: slight fatigue (could be due to finals week; I'm in college)

These are all the symptoms I've had thus far. I don't quite understand how the HIV rash is supposed to look; I read several different descriptions on it on the internet, and cannot accurately determine how mine compares. There are no bumps, warts, or blisters, and it only itches occasionally. Plus it goes away at times. If someone could shed light on this issue, this would be nice.

Also, I'd like to mention that I did talk to the guy who I had sex with, and he told me that he tested negative for HIV after 3 weeks of being with his ex-boyfriend. Later they both got the flu, though I don't know whether they actually got the flu or whether they got the HIV flu. Nevertheless, he'll be tested this week and find out next week whether he's possible. But for the meantime, I'd like to know how these symptoms match up to others who do have ARS or HIV.

Thank you for your time!
