We Took Turns Plowing This Hole!
« on: April 29, 2012, 02:28:41 AM »
Ok, my headline was misleading.  But, I'm sure most knew that.  I've always wanted a backyard pond--a place to relax and reflect.  In my attempt to get back to doing things I use to do (all that physical, manly stuff to get back in shirtless shape), we decided to do it.  And, I thought being out in the sun would help boost my low Vit D level.  It hasn't cost much at all, so far.  We got the liner, lights, and pump from Lowes, using the 10% off coupons in those USPS moving packets.  It will be the plants that cost so much.

A Grub Worm found while digging

Some baby birds.  Momma kicked the 4th one out to its death.  Natural is cruel.

The dogs are in love with the neighbor boy

And, this is what the water looked like tonight after a big storm with golf ball size hail.  I have 2 lumps on my head from getting hit.  A storm was brewing, but the hail just came out of no where.  It stirred up the dirt and I hope the fish made it through.

Yep, the misleading heading led me here, but this was well worth indulging my curiosity.

Great photos and what a nice water feature -- very attractive.

Charlie is a Puggle.  I know, that fat ass looks like a bulldog.  Thanks everyone for the nice compliments.  We had just taken out that rock platform to drill a hole in it to set up a different fountain.  That platform was the fishes hiding place.  When the hail came down, they were left with no shelter.  It is still all cloudy today, so can't see fish.  I suppose they would be floating if they were dead.  My head is still sore  from getting hit.  And, my car has a bunch of dings.

Hmmmpfff... false advertisement.  I thought this would be about a visit to a local bath-house or adult book-shop.

The pond looks nice, Tedderz.  Good work.  And those baby-birds are cute but kinda wicked looking (I presume that the one who got kicked out of the nest was the gay boy in the family).

Be sure to update with pictures of the fish.  Koi, I presume?

Nice hole.

And I'm not really a hole person.

I haven't seen a hole that big since I ended up in a certain part of Philadelphia  ::)

Nice job Ted -
