Oussama Ben Laden serait mort?
« on: September 23, 2006, 09:18:47 AM »

Calling all French speakers - can you please tell us what this article says and how reliable is the source?

Allegedly, Osama bin Laden has died of typhus. The article can be read at: http://www.estrepublicain.fr/zoom/2006092300222348.html

Thanks in advance...

Ann

I've seen that running the news wires too Ann. I'll believe it as soon as they tie his dead ass by the legs behind a truck and drag his dead ass all over. I would have said balls, but cowards don't have balls.

sorry for the two stupid posts - not used to having the tab key take me out of the box.
 Ann,
The article states that the Saudi secret Service has information that Osama died of typhus on 8/23/2006.  The French Secret Service has transmitted this info the the hightest members of the French government on 9/21/2006.  He had a severe case of typhus aggravated by the fact that he was out of reach of adequate medical care.  The first info was gathered by the Saudis on 9/4 and they are trying to assertain the place of his burial to be able to confirm his death.

On a personal note, I hope his death was 1) real and 2) painful and slow.  Satan may have at last called one of his own home to him.

Also CNN is now running a story about the information, as it pertains to the French government's investigation of who leaked the info.

WASHINGTON, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Osama bin Laden is dead. At least according to Saudi intelligence sources cited by a French newspaper, which in turn claims to have obtained a document leaked to them by French counter-intelligence services.

The news of the death of al-Qaida's chief was reported in the Saturday edition of l'Est Republicain, a respected regional daily. The French paper cites a memo they claim was obtained from the French counter-espionage agency, the Direction Générale des Services Extérieurs, or the DGSE.

Bin Laden, the world's most wanted terrorist is believed to have died last August as a result of typhoid fever while he was in a remote part of Pakistan, according to the French newspaper.

The report of bin Laden's death was however not confirmed by official sources in either Pakistan or Saudi Arabia.

But a Saudi intelligence source told United Press International: "We are not saying he is dead, but there is a lot of truth in the report." The Saudi source, who spoke on condition that his name not be revealed, confirmed the existence of a Saudi intelligence report relating to the health of bin Laden. And according to that Saudi Arabian intelligence document, it states, "bin Laden was very ill these past few weeks."

The Saudi source told UPI the French intelligence report must have concluded that Saudi authorities believes bin Laden to be dead.

"There is no way we can prove that bin Laden is dead until we can see the body," the Saudi intelligence source told UPI. But, he stressed, "A good portion of what is in the report is true."

For the moment, the source went on to say, "We do not confirm bin Laden's death. "We don't know."

Making the report all the more credible was the choice by those in French counter-intelligence of where to leak the Saudi report, the regional L'Est Republicain, rather than one of the larger Paris-based dailies.

"There is a history with that paper," the Saudi source told UPI. The newspaper is known to have had intelligence reports leaked to it in the past. "They are very reliable," said the Saudi official.

The information purporting the death of the world's most sought after terrorist is based on what the newspaper calls "a usually reliable source," stating that Saudi intelligence sources "are convinced" of bin Laden's death.

The French intelligence report goes on to say, still according to the French daily, that bin Laden died in Pakistan on August 23 after suffering "from a severe bout of typhoid fever," and a bacterial infection provoked a paralysis of his lower body.

The Saudi intelligence report states that bin Laden's geographic isolation "rendered all medical assistance impossible. Indeed, U.S. intelligence sources have long believed bin Laden was hiding in remote parts of Pakistan, close to the border with Afghanistan, areas where sophisticated medical help would be difficult to obtain.

The news of bin Laden's death reached the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on Sept. 4. If confirmed, that, in part, might explain the complete absence of Osama bin Laden from making any appearances on the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon just outside Washington, DC.

Instead, a videotape by bin Laden's deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri, was released to television news networks.

The French daily reports that the internal and confidential memo from the DGSE reporting the death of "the enemy number one" of the United States and of the West, was handed over to the Presidency of the French republic on Sept. 21.

If it is indeed true that he is dead, George Bush already created many, that are more than willing to take his place. I am sure they are lined up....

Ray, it wouldn't have mattered even if Bill Clinton would have got him, there would have been someone ready to take his place, but then you have the matter of financing. Ben Laden HAD the money. (till his parents disowned him and took his money away)

there have been rumors since 9/11 that the death or capture of Bin would result in a call to all cells world wide to activate their plans to destroy whatever they were supposed to destroy. There is much speculation that if Bin is captured or killed by US, it will be kept secret if possible to avoid attacks from sleeper cells that have been in this country since 80s and 90s.
US and Great Britian have always been first in line to say Bin is still alive. How does a 6'4" arab on a dialysis machine hide in a stone age society of sub 6 footers?

I find it rather hard to believe, given his status among his faithful followers worldwide. If al- Zawahiri is half the jackal I think he is, I would think he would be making it his business to publicly mourn, and martyr, Bin Laden.

Hey Jack, where does a 6'4" A-RAB plug in a dialysis machine? If that machine was made in the US, I hope the heating unit screws up and boils his blood.

Don't believe I said anything about W. How does a 6'4" guy, who lives in world where most men are under 6' but taller than Tom Cruise, hide? How does he get electric power to run his dialysis machine? If someone was living where he is supposed to be living and using the kind of electricity needed for him to stay alive,we would know where that place is.
There is now speculation that the French released this story to try and flush Bin out.
I think the dude has been dead for awhile
