Please judge my Risk
« on: November 20, 2011, 11:29:55 AM »
Hi Experts,

Kindly judge my risk.

I recently had an incident with a sex worker, she gave me a hand job while i slightly touched her vagina with my finger, she then cleaned my penis with a cloth
after i cummed by the hand job thing.

In this entire episode i had no penetrative sex with her(neither vaginal, nor anal, nor oral).

Can HIV spread through hand job, fingering, contact between the penis and an infected cloth.

Since that day i have become very tensed and guilty over this incident. This HIV thought haunts me all the time.

I did the HIV test after 4 weeks and 7 weeks , both came as Negative.

I am concerned that she may have some fluid on her hand while she was giving me a hand job and the
cloth might have some fluid ,that she used to clean my penis after i cummed by the hand job thing.

kindly judge my risk.

should i go for another test post 3 months???

Thanks!!!!!!

You are worrying needlessly. There was no risk for HIV in your incident and no need for further testing. You are HIV negative. HIV is a fragile virus and is not passed in the manner you are concerned about.

For future reference you need to know that the ONLY confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. As long as you consistently use condoms for those activities you will be well protected.

Continue on with your life without any further worries about this.

Yes it does.

There is no need to get tested again. You have reliably tested negative. You are HIV negative. And as long as you consistently use condoms for vaginal/anal intercourse, you will be well protected against the sexual transmission of HIV.

Cheers.

Of course that's good news for you. There's no surprise for us with that negative result.

Enjoy it and get on with your life.

Hi Andy,

What is the duration of window period for HIV Antibody Testing. Is it 3 months or 6 months .

Because some Testing centers claim that window period is of 6 months and one can get satisfactory result only after 6 months.

I had a HIV ANTIBODIES, SERUM-Enzyme Immunoassay (Rapid) Test after 3 months and the result came out to be NON Reactive.

Do i need to retest after 6 months.

Thanks

The standard has been three months for many years now. I am sorry you are offered old and outdated information.
