Isn't it just pathetic that this potential groundbreaking treatment has been sitting idle for so long.  There have been recent articles about it in Forbes and Fortune Magazines.  Apparently Koronis Pharmaceuticals needs to raise approx $20 million to get the drug back to clinical trials.  The frusterating thing is thats really not a lot of money!!  Don't any filthy rich celebrities care??  Apparently drug companies don't want the drug to become a reality since they are making enough money off the drugs already in existance.  This is when the government should kick in, take the gamble which could pay off big, since the drug companies have no incentive to do so!!

Very interesting approach to arrest the virus.  If my HIV was at a more advanced stage, I would certainly volunteer for the stage 3 test group.  Hey Magic Johnson...you got 20 million?..lol

donating $20 million dollars would be pocket change for a group of 10-20 celebrities.   Magic Johnson should jump on this.  I wonder why the US Government/ Obama administration and/or other country's governments havn't jumped on this gamble that could have tremendous payouts....both in reduced human suffering and reduced government medical spending.  Just makes no sense for this drug to be sitting idle.  What the #$@! is going on!!

I thought that the reason this fell off of the map was that the results from their studies weren't as good as expected. The concept is that if the drug caused an overwhelming amount of incompetent virus could be produced, the "fit" virus would eventually be "bred out", leaving less competent virus. Exciting concept, since the goal is supposed to be the opposite of the Darwinian selection that occurs with current medications. For the $20 million to get this going, Dr. Paul's Abzyme vaccine only wants $2 million for clinical trials, so I myself ask why someone's not willing scrape that smaller amount together - his vaccine is supposed to generate enzymatic antibodies that can destroy thousands of gp120 sites on the HIV virus, not just the typical one to one ratio that traditional antibodies offer.
