Moving soon to Tennessee
« on: September 22, 2006, 07:18:23 PM »
After my meeting last night at my POZ meeting I have decided that I will be moving away from Virginia and moving to Tennessee. Things are just not getting any better living here near my folks anymore. It is time for me to move on and get on with my life away from my family it will be hard at first but after the meeting last night It really opened up doors for me and I have so many of the group member there wanting to help me get out of here and move down there. It is just a shame I can not make my family understand how I feel and all they tend to do is ignore me and try to get me help for being gay. Not going to happen in this lifetime. The past few weeks I have gotten myself run down and the heartache of living here is like living in hell I have no life here.So it is time for me to get on with my life and try to improve my health status.

Jerry,

It sounds like you've had quite a rough time of it lately with your family.  I moved across the country to keep some space between my family and myself (and they weren't nearly as bad as yours seem to be).

Where in TN are you planning to move?  Nashville probably has the most "gay-friendly" and tolerant population (OK, i know we're talking about Tennessee here, so it's all relative).  Plus the HIV services would probably be better there than other cities.

Glad you've decided on a plan of action.  Best of luck to you.

John

this is really good news Jerry.  It's not going to be easy and at times it just might seem like  big mistake but, believe me, you'll work it out and you'll feel like you're on top of the world.

If you need something just let us know.

We love you...robert

Jerry, however it happens it's a GOOD THING!  What a feeling that when you look out your window, no matter how bad things are, you won't have your under-informed kinfolk staring back at you.  Feels like they are taunting you at times, no?  This might just be the, dare I say, catalyst for healing with them?  Once they realize (and the whole town realizes) that 'cancer' Jerry has moved on?  I bet half them say "he's getting his treatment" while the other, more informed half say "You Go Boi!"

Best to you, brother, and keep kickin' it!!!!

Jerry,
I sent you a long PM..too wordy I think.  But in addition, I must say, that there are all kinds of families in this world.  I think the people around here are a rather nice lot.  Not to be mean to families, but there is more wisdom in the AM family than in 99 percent of any others I've met.  Just sayin' .......

Thanks everyone the first big step is finding some place to live and then contact the health department to get my meds taken care of so I can start a new life. The second step is to move my things from my place without the trouble of my family telling what I can or what I can not take. I will just have to cross that bridge when I get there but just glad I am getting the chance to move out before it is too late.

Good luck Jerry!  I think everyone should just pick up and move once or twice in their life.  It's not nearly as scary as we think it will be.  But change does create fears and anxieties.  Best of luck to you Jerry.  I'm sure everything will work out fine.

I can no longer take the chance of anyone in my family snooping or getting up in my personal life on the forums anymore.

I have choosen to move on with my life and move away as soon as I can. I cannot contune to write on these threads and know that someone in my family has nothing better to do than to spy on there child.
