Am I infected? Possible symptoms.
« on: December 08, 2011, 02:03:40 PM »
Hello everyone,

I am a 18 year old male. I had unprotected oral sex with a older man on and off now for about 2 years (maybe 5 times in total) He never finished in my mouth one time, but I'm 99% sure that there was always small amounts of pre-cum. He says he is clean, but it's hard for me to tell if he is lying or not.He told me he was checked in the hospital when he had high blood pressure? I checked online for symptoms of the HIV disease and this is what I have so far. I read that its like a 1/10,000 chance to get it from Oral sex,but I am still very worried. It's hard for me to get tested because im not "out" yet and I can't tell my parents.

Coated Tongue - It's only yellow under very bright light. All other times its a white color, but not super unnatural either. I also don't really brush my teeth regularly and to be honest they are pretty bad and yellow. (I also read this a a LATER symptom)I can post pics if that is allowed here.

Random Tingling/pain in feet - this happened on and off for about a week about a month ago, hasn't been back.

I don't recall every having flu/cold like symptoms after 2-4 weeks after any of our encounters. The things listed above are the ONLY things I have that seem like it could be associated.

I am very very very scared, and haven't been able to sleep for about 2 nights now. Thanks in advance for the help.

You never had a risk of contracting HIV. Saliva contains over a dozen different enzymes and proteins that inhibits HIV transmission. Not one of your symptoms are HIV specific.

Thank you for the quick response. Are there any other STD's that could have those specific symptoms? Should I even bother getting a test done if I know for a fact that's all we have done?

Thanks, I will be sure to research those and read further. So it is 100% not in any way possible I can get it from oral/pre-cum? I'm still confused on the fact that the CDC and other various medical sites say that it is.

Thanks for the studies, all though I don't understand half of it, from what I read it's still a risk, but a small one? This has helped me out quite a bit, thanks. What do they mean exactly when they are talking about it being an independent risk factor?

Let's keep this simple. Theoretically anything other than sex with your own hand is potentially risky. But in the real world of HIV, the only confrimed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected anal and vaginal intercourse.

As long as condoms are always used for those activities you will be well protected.

Rather than surfing the net for symptoms of other STDs, we do suggest that anyone who is sexually active ought to at least once a year have a full std panel done. Other STDs are easier to acquire than HIV.

But as far as HIV is concerned, you do not have to be concerned at this time nor do you need to test for HIV.

Andy, thank you. I will not get a test done. I've regained a bit of my sanity back.

One thing I am still concerned about is the yellowing of the tongue. I know this forum is primary for HIV, but can you touch on this a little? It's white in the front part, but from mid to back is yellow, but only under light. I've read it could be from a bladder infection, but I also read that Urinary tract infections are not common from fellatio. Hell, it could just be from poor dental hygiene.

Hello again. I have decided that the yellow on the tongue was from poor dental care, i've brushed and it's since gone away.

I have ran into another issue though.

2 days ago I realized my left testicle was literary out of the sac and into a fatty area below where it should be. I've had a small amount of pain with it, also I am STILL not able to get a full erection. I watched porn and rubbed until I got semi-hard, I came as usual with no pain. Could any of these still be symptoms?

I've had no fever or discharge either. What should I do?

You might want to see a doctor. This is not an HIV situation however.

Thank you again for the quick reply.

1 more question. As I stated in my 1st post, I had seen this man MAYBE 5-6 times over 2 years. Would this at all increase my chance for HIV? He never finished once in my mouth. Has anybody on this forum been diagnosed with it just from oral?

I will be going to the doctor tomorrow and wondering if I should get a test done.

One more question and then I think I will be alright. I will be going to the doctor Wednesday to get other tests done for other STDs.

Can HIV cause testicular pain and also sudden low ejaculation volumes? Ever since the last encounter I have had very very little semen to be.. released.

ALSO, at one point when we met, the first time he ever fingered me, I did bleed a little. Could I have gotten HIV from him from being fingered?

Has anyone on this board ever tested + from oral with pre-cum?

Rodney,

You should let me know when people in this forum send you a PM. They're not supposed to do that and they'd know it if they bothered to read the Welcome Thread before posting like they're supposed to.

Quote

Do NOT use Private Messages to question other members about any transmission, testing or symptom issues. These issues must be discussed in the public forum. Misuse of the PM function in this manner will result in your PM privileges being removed without warning.

I've removed bessx's PM privilege, so you won't be hearing from him again.

bessx,

If you've been getting blowjobs from this man, it is possible that he has oral gonorrhea and/or chlamydia and has passed it on to you. Hiv does not cause testicular pain, but bacterial infections (like the two I just mentioned) can. Go see a doctor.

You have not had a risk for hiv infection. If you cannot bring yourself to believe us, go test, collect your negative result, and get on with your life.

Hello all, thank you for all your help. I went to a doctor and gave them my symptoms and was treated for Gonorrhea, I don't think I had it as I showed no symptoms. My mind has been at ease since then until I woke up this today with a rash under my left breast/nipple. It has been about 16-17 days since the encounter which is a perfect time for ARS symptoms. I have no fever associated with. I have included a photo. I have also had a cough for the past few days.

Exactly, and part of getting hiv is ARS. Rashes are a common sign of ARS. I just want to know if it looks like an ARS rash.

Photos on the web are not a good way to evaluate anything. The rash associated with ARS is a flat, non-itchy one which if it shows up, is on the trunk of the body and arms and legs. It may appear for a week or two and then is gone.

If you have a persistent rash that is something to discuss with your doctor. As has been said to you before, we cannot diagnose anything in this setting. Nothing you are reporting symptomatically is in any way HIV specific. That's not a surprise since you have not reported anything that was a risk for HIV.

What is does it mean by trunk of the body? Because like I said this is just right above my stomach, and it just showed up today. It also does not itch and there are no raised up areas.

If you are a guy and get fat, you normally don't go out and buy pregnancy tests.

Thats very true, but not a good analogy at all, men obviously can't get pregnant, this is not the case with HIV though. even a "possible" risk is still a risk.

I will be going tomorrow or Monday to a local aids clinic for a rapid test. I will report back.

You are a man without a risk for HIV in the scenario you described. My analogy stands. You simply do not, cannot get HIV from receiving a blowjob.
