Just to say hello and introduce myself
« on: December 01, 2011, 06:35:12 AM »
Hello to all on these forums,

I am 35 and  from London Uk.  I was diagnosed + in march 2010.  I found Aidsmeds a couple of months after this.
I just want to say thank you to everyone who contributes.  The information and advice I have gained reading these forums has helped me get to a place where I feel I can look to my future with more confidence and cautious optimism.

I was in a very different dark place last year.  This forum has been a life saver.  I have been a regular reader for well over a year now so it is time I said hello.

Also I believe it will be beneficial to protecting my health and staying informed if I become more involved with you all,  so here I am.

CD4 490. VL about 4000. Not on treatment yet.

Take care everyone.

Hi Joe, welcome to the forums.

I'm not too sure you should worry about your username - the other Average Joe hasn't logged in since June 2010, was only around for four days and only posted eight times. However, if you still want to change your name, you'll have to PM (private message) me and let me know what you want to change to. I'll send a PM back to you with instructions. You will only be able to use the PM function once you've posted three times.

I'm glad you decided to start posting, and it's good to know you've already had a lot of help from reading threads.

I don't know if you've picked up on it yet, but I'm kinda-sorta in the UK too - I'm in the Isle of Man (aka The Rock) and I go to Liverpool for my hiv care. We have several members in London and others scattered around the UK.

Looking forward to hearing more from you...

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

Welcome Joe.
