It's a wonderful time for our country. A nation finally growing up! I knew at least 3 guys, when I was in the Army,  that were discharged, between 1971 and 1973, because they were gay,

This interview was on our Baynews9 home page today:

Same here Ray, but you couldn't be out back then, however the debate will still continue and there are still people who don't like or want any of this, but never-the-less, for me as a Navy Vet, it's a wonder day  ;)

One of my co-workers asked me last night, if I was going to reenlist, since DADT was repealed.  :)

I told him at close to 60 years of age, I don't think they would want me anymore !  ;) Couldn't even imagine going through basic training again.

This is a very good day for the U.S.  I applaud the President and the congress for finally doing away with this flawed policy.

But I'm also interested in stirring up a little bit of shit.  I remember when the repeal was passed and sent for review, the vast majority of us celebrated it.  But there were a  couple of members who jumed in with their negativity.  Phrases like: "this isn't over yet" come to mind.

Despite experiencing disappointment in some of the compromises President Obama has made, I applaud him for what he's been able to accomplish.

Not everything I hoped for, not everything I wanted has been done.  But that's politics.  I support this President and will vote for him again.

What a great day to celebrate for USA. It takes only one president and his supporters to do so many progressive things that matters for the country and for the world! Its a very happy day for gays in US.
