There are people on here using generic Atripla (Viraday) but they don't log on too often.

They have talked about using it on other threads.

A lot of people use Cipla medications in the developing world.  It works for them.

Yes I would be interested in knowing if anyone is on the generic atripla - cost $235 instead of $2800 in the US.  I have just ordered the generic and plan to try it.  anyone out there using it?

Because its not sold in the United States and most people get their medications from traditional methods, not from an online pharmacy thats located out of the country.

Patent and copyright laws prevent ARV generics from being manufactured and/or sold in the United States. It's disheartening to see how cheaply these drugs can be made for  overseas compared to how much we pay here in the west.

Where are you from? Who gets what drugs and at what price is easy enough to understand.

Maybe not easy to accept politically however.

I buy my Viraday from HIVGenericDrugs.Com I have been using Viraday for 2 years now and am non-detect with CD4 of 862.

I pay about $150/bottle and they have free shipping which is nice.  Their shipping was faster than aids-drugs-online by about 10 days and I didnt have to find a dam fax machine to send in my script or download and sign any forms.  But I still had to wait about 15 days.  The longest part was Customs.  Customs seems to always hold my meds for 5-6 days.  But they never inspect them.  I think its just the punishment I have to take for not buying U.S. brand name genuine pills!!!

I was getting my meds through David Powell Clinic in Austin, but with the lower ADAP price formulary I had to start paying for it on my own cuz I didnt qualify any more for ADAP

The best place I found for Atripla in the U.S. was Wal-Mart for $78/pill.  At Wal-mart you have to drop your script before 5 p.m.  and they can have it for you after 3p.m the next day.  You can also ask for however many pills you want...if you cant afford 30 they will break it up for you in any amount you want ie:5 or 7, etc...

They had the lowest prices of CVS at $81 and Walgreens of $82 (Walgreens took 2 days to get in Atripla after your script was dropped off).  (This was in Conroe Texas)  Im not sure what the prices at Wal-Mart, CVS and Walgreens are in the rest of the U.S.

Because I live so close to the Mexican border, (4 hour drive) I could drive to Nuevo Laredo and buy Viraday there for about $160 - $200 / bottle depending on the peso.  But god that's a long drive through the desert with no radio stations to pick up and NOTHING TO DO!!!  And now its kinda dangerous on the border towns, so I stopped going.

If you go to Mexico to buy meds, make sure that you declare them to Customs when you come back into the U.S.  otherwise, if they search you and find them on you they will confiscate them.  Every time I brought my Viraday back in across the border,  They asked me what is this medication for, (which I find intrusive, embarrassing to have to say out loud in front of other strangers in the big open hallway, and really non of their business! ) they looked in the boxes, opened the bottles and saw the safety seal still sealed, and the manufacturers instructions, re-closed the bottles ( they did not break the safety seal b.t.w.), handed them back to me in their little boxes, then gave me a friendly reminder that although it is legal to bring these meds into the United States, they wanted me to understand that if I was stopped by a State of Texas official, I must have a Texas prescription for them, not a mexican prescription.  Yeah right...watch out for the State of Texas prescription police stopping people!!!!

I find it best to always be polite to the customs guys and just say "Thanks for the advice!" and hurry on through the checkpoint.  I think they are really more interested with stopping illegals and narcotics than creating problems for normal people.

I havent bought any meds in Canada.

I hope this helps.

Before I put Atripla through my insurance, its $1388 for a bottle of 30 pills.

I'm in Toronto though, so it may be a different price in Vancouver.

I don't mean when it will be generic here in the US but when companies such as Cipla will be producing it, the way they do Atripla (as Viraday) and other HIV meds that are still in patent in the US.

When a version of raltegravir comes out from Cipla that means it will be sold online along with other HIV meds that are currently sold online.

Hola,
I bought Generic Atripla (VIRADAY) from India trough Canada drugs on line and after waiting 15 days I got my first 3 months supply, my viral load before meds was 43340 and CD4 326 after 45 days with VIRADAY I got amazing results, viral load went down to 530 and CD4 up to 394, so I totally recommend VIRADAY from SIPLA pharmaceutical.

I have to agree with those that have used Viraday here. I had checked the forums a year ago before I started on it, but I didn't find much from anyone.

I posted a longer response on another Viraday thread at http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=29951.msg480478#msg480478. Basically, my CD4+ increased (doubled!) on Viraday after plateauing on Atripla.

I ordered Viraday from them twice and found a few problems with the orders.

After a few days of placing my order I still had not heard anything from them so I emailed them to find out what was going on with my order.

It took them over a week to respond to my email.  And the email said that they were having a problem filling my order.  Finally after 3 1/2  weeks my order arrived and in my order was an invoice from http://www.Jandrugs.com.  ( I have never ordered from here, but I am guessing that because there is an invoice inside they must be legit)

The very last time I ordered from them before switching it took almost 5 weeks, with no response to my emails regarding my order and when my order arrived there was an invoice inside from http://www.betterlifepharmacy.com.  But the betterlifepharmacy package had no box and no patient instructions enclosed.  ( After the crappy way my package arrived from them I am DEF NOT ordering from them, and it took them a LONG TIME to ship my order, but I am guessing they must be legit also.  However I do see they heavily promote their affiliate program)

So I am guessing there is no aids-drugs-online.  They just take my order then give it to a pharmacy and get a commission on my order.  I checked their pharmachecker sticker and it says they are an affiliate.  So I guess they must take my order and sit on it and "shop it around" until they find the best commission and then ship my meds... ASSHOLES!  That causes MAJOR DELAYS IN MY MEDS!!!!  THEY ARE OBVIOUSLY NOT HIV POZ OR THEY WOULD HAVE BETTER RESPECT FOR THEIR CUSTOMERS!!!

And there is A MAJOR WAIT TIME !

If I knew this website was just a front for other pharmacies I would have just ordered it directly AND SAVED MYSELF THE EXTRA 2 WEEKS WAIT!!!!

These guys HAVE NOT A CLUE that these meds ARE NOT VIAGRA OR OTHER CRAP.. I need these meds EVERYDAY...THIS IS NOT OPTIONAL!

I have ordered for the past several times from http://www.HIVGenericDrugsOnline.Com. ( see my previous posts on this same topic)

I pay $450 for 3 bottles and free shipping.  I get automated emails on my orders status and my Viraday usually ships same day or next day and it takes on average 10 - 14 days to arrive.  It takes HALF the time of the other guys and they are public about the fact they are pissed off at the system HIV positive people who run the pharmacy.

I havnt had any problems with them and they respond quickly to my emails (well I've only sent 1).

I dont wanna sound like a cheerleader for them, but I am still pissed at aids-drugs-online for the crappy customer service they have provided for me.  And it wasnt just 1 time, it was 2ice.

If your looking to save time and hassle with your order, I would avoid aids-drugs-online and go direct to www.hivgenericdrugs.com , jandrugs.com, or betterlifepharmacy.com.

Just to be clear: the one you had a problem with is http://www.aids-drugs-online.com?

With the other ones you have had good experiences?

Thanks for the insight Nate. I had used ADO just twice in the past year after switching from a different online pharmacy. The previous one didn't take credit cards and payment was a pain putting an extra several weeks in the process, so I was glad to find one that actually shipped the product and accepted Visa. I did think it was odd that they appeared to drop ship the products from other pharmacies. I will take your advice and look into hivgenericdrugs.com. It would be great if we could get a rating system here for insight into which sites to use and which to avoid. Again, thanks Nate.

As for the main topic of the thread, I am still very happy with Viraday. As you can see, though, without help and insight from others, you might encounter some issues, so check around and ask questions.

So I tried HIVGenericDrugs.com as Nate suggested. I'm really regretting it. The site has been having DNS issues since I placed the order. They processed the payment and sent me an email telling me that I would soon receive another email with the tracking number. It's been two weeks, and I'm still waiting. I called the customer service phone number and left a message, but I haven't heard from anyone. I sent an email, but due to the DNS issues, it was returned.

I may end up without medication for a few weeks because of this issue. I'm seriously not happy with them right now!
