And for those in Canada, Happy Canada Day.  William and Kate stopped by to give Kate a taste of the royal life.

Happy 4th to everyone! My granddaughter's baseball team made it into the championship, but unfortunately the game got rained out last night.  Hopefully it will be rescheduled within a short time period so I can watch her.

Happy 4th to everyone!

Thank you!  Off to visit with family at the lake house in the NC mountains and plan to claim a hammock with a nice view, relax, and read.  Wishes for a safe and fun holiday to all my fellow US friends.

Thank you and happy 4th to you too.  I'm just grateful and remain home today and relax.  3 days of attending parties and events has WORN me out.

I'm spending the 4th of July having one of those days where I produce an endless stream of turds that look like a dead person produced them.

That's what you get for not being patriotic.  Shouldn't have used Canadian bacon and Cuban black beans on that recipe.

I've actually been eating quiche today, and I'm having shrimp scampi for dinner.

Oh, and I'm currently bringing a small serving of Saint Marcellin cheese to room temperature.

Most of my friends prefer the beach, but a lake with mountain views is a sight to behold...google Mt cook in NZ and you will see what I mean...it's such a beautiful setting, summer and winter.

Hope you found the hammock comfortable.. ;)

Why do they have to be frenchmen?  Do frogs produce more smegma than the brits or the yanks?  I think not.

Fromunda cheese tends to be aged longer and more exquisite, hence her preference for that specific variety.

Happy 4th everyone -

phild is very tired - partied from Friday until 7 am, on Saturday then partied on Sunday til 6 a.m. this morning---
phild is not a very young man anymore and is wore the f**k out.

May the 4th be with you..... from phild who will be watching the fireworks from all angles from his balcony in North Miami (I get views of the North Miami fireworks, Miami, and can see the Fort Lauderdale one's also) - not to mention all of the homemade 'hood fireworks --- and I only have to dodge the occasional bullet fired into the air...... by the time it is over tonight, the area will look like it is covered in a dense fog (like a summer night in London).

Saint Marcellin cheese is, duh, from France. Guess you're not as upper class as my steeplechase Virginia-bred ass is.

I celebrated last night at my brother's place out in the country.  We did it correctly with all sorts of drinks and such.  I did my first jello shot.  And my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.  Every 10 minutes another concoction was arriving.  It was especially cute when my sister-in-law asked me if I wanted to give the "blow jobs".  Some sort of creamy stuff in a long slender tube...sounded vaguely familiar.  I really wanted to do it right, there were some mighty hot country guys there who appeared more interested in me than in their wives. ;)

Living this close to an amusement park (Carowinds) and a baseball stadium (Charlotte Knights) has it's advantages. Though we had a huge storm roll through the area a couple hrs ago (with it's own fireworks show of over 5K+ lightening strikes in just this area of the state!), the stadium shot off a big fireworks show and then the park (for the third night in a row) shot off an amazing amount of fireworks.

while I enjoyed all the bright flashing lights and booming thunderous noises tonight, the dogs are pretty freaked out. I'm sure they think we must be living in a war zone or something. LOL

This was the first 4th of July I have not been working in probably 6 years or so. We went to a friend's house for a barbeque. His neighbors had a little parade, people were drinking some alcohol punch called woo woo, fireworks were shot... fun was had by all.

I'm almost ashamed to admit I spent most of the holiday weekend absorbed in the "Casey Anthony" trial and hoopla....

How did I ever get caught up in this crap?   What has happend to my gay genes, that make me want to do something FUN and be around lots of other people?   I think I'm getting old.... :-\

Camping :  maybe next weekend!   We had a rainy evening on the 4th anyway....
