Our new code word
« on: May 28, 2011, 09:11:49 AM »
While we were in the car the other day, my oldest son out of the blue came out with " Mom, what's AIDS?
We had the little ones in the car so I told him I would tell him later.

Later, he and I are the kitchen table and he asks again and I thought the 3 some had left the room, so I said "That's what I have" and then I asked him to check to make sure that no one was sitting on the couch so we could talk about it.  One of the little ones was there so I was saying that we need to be careful what we say around them and try not to use THAT word and the other one.

He looked at me and said  "What word , HGTV?"   ;D

When we were finally alone, I asked why he was asking.  We were in the Dollar Store earlier and while he was walking by 2 women he heard one women telling the other that she had AIDS. Who knows if he heard her right, I don't know if I would choose the dollar store to disclose but it made for an interesting conversation anyway.
Of all the things you wear, your expression is the most important

The heaviest thing you can carry is a grudge..

One thing you can give and still keep...is your word.

One thing you can't recycle is wasted time.

Hey Snow,

Guess ya never know what will be chatted up at the Dollar Store, heh?

I think it's great that you and your son are working out the code details AND using my favorite channel no less.

Your post made me think back to my first ID nurse who agreed to leave my numbers on v-mail for me after I encouraged him to use Charlie Daniels for CD4 and Victoria Lane for VL. Worked well.

hi snowangel,
your post made me smile. it is too cute. i can't take it. :)
I haven't been able to disclose my newly diagnosed condition to any of my close friends. Simply because I fear that they might not understand and drift away from me. But i guess i will find out who my real friends are when that happens.
I need to find out where the nearest dollar store is first.

Hey Snow-

I guess it was the long awaited moment all germinating from the dollar store.  The birds and bees should pale in-comparison.  ;)
