Let's stop the bickering
« on: September 11, 2006, 08:46:36 AM »
On this, the 5th anniversary of the horrific tragedy of 9/11, as I rode the subway to work on the same sort of clear, cool September morning as we experienced those 5 years ago (they seem like just yesterday and yet so very long ago)  I would like to make a suggestion that we rise above the bickering that has taken place here recently...Yes we are a family of sorts and families quarrel from time to time...That is healthy and there is nothing wrong with that occasionally to air our issues...However there seems to be more and more fighting and nasty words of late and I think we should all reflect on why we are here to begin with and that is to support and care for one another as best as possible.

Several people have not returned to the forums recently and over the past few months and it may be that they have been a bit soured by the bickering that has perhaps for some eroded the support they seek in living with HIV or the fear of getting it.

So - as best as possible - Can't we all be grateful we have this place and try and utilize it for more constructive purposes. PEACE BE WITH US ALL, today and for each of the remaining days of our lives.

Sounds like a party to me!  Honestly, if you took out all the drama and bickering, just imagine how few posts there would be!   ;)

SHIT!!! Did I miss some good ol fashion cat fights?  I havent seen any good bickering in a few weeks!
LIFE is not a race to the grave with the intention of arriving safely
in a pretty and well-preserved body, but, rather to skid in broadside,
thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming--WOW! WHAT A

I wholeheartedly agree Jody. Thank you for your calming words.
While I do understand that there will inevitably arise heated discourse in the fora, we can still be passionate without mudflinging.
I try to live each day with the thought that tomorrow is not promised to any of us, so we must take care to not to walk away in anger.
Someone I really care about sent me a funny little card that says " I try take one day at a time........but sometimes several days attack me at once." It seems as though several days have attacked us of late.
I am hoping that we will arise from the ashes, and be better to, and for each other.

I dunno. AIDSMEDS wouldn't be AIDSMEDS without the occasional tanty, hissy fit or outbreak of generalised hair-pulling. ;)

Nothing doll. Just the usual blizzard of shit that follows an AMG. Everyone will be sniffing everyone else's bum again by next week.

Should I expect a blizzard of shit after our drinks in the Shakespeare then??

I can tell you right now, I won't be sniffing round anyone's bum! :o
