Am i infected??
« on: March 08, 2011, 11:35:38 PM »
Hi everyone i had an encounter 11 weeks back.I used protection but with 2 condoms on me.I felt guilty and stopped in the middle and
removed my condoms off with csw pointing a torch  while i was removing them. The next day i had rashes on my arms.I googled 'Rash' and
found hiv rash and began to worry.week later i started getting diahhrea and mild fever which lasted for many days.
I had severeal Gi issues all 10 weeks.I am really afraid it was hiv.I got tested at 6 weeks by tridot and got a negative result.
Now also i have pain under my ribs when  i eat some thing and sit down.I am terribly afraid.I doubt my condoms broke which i did not notice.
Can  u people comment on my exposure???

Hi,

Bottom line is you are worrying needlessly. Condoms provide very effective protection against HIV transmission. However, don't double them. That actually can cause breakage. Just one condom by itself will do the job. You don't have to worry about their having broken during this incident because it would have been very apparent if that happened. When a condom goes it's not about itty bitty little holes. The entire thing goes and it ends up looking like a fringed hoop on your penis.

As for your symptoms, they have nothing to do with HIV. If they persist you should discuss them with your doctor.

This is not an HIV situation and there is no need for further concern nor for testing.

That's right. You were not at risk for HIV. And if you continue use a condom everytime for vaginal or anal intercourse you won't have any sexual risks for HIV.

You did not have a risk for HIV.

Your symptoms are not HIV-specific. No surprise there. No risk = no HIV symptoms.

We cannot diagnose symptoms in this setting and we don't speculate about what might be causing them.

Go see your doctor to discuss the matter.

Just because you haven't found out what is causing your symptoms does not mean by default your problem is HIV. Because it isn't.

If you continue to return here over an incident in which there was no risk for HIV you are going to find yourself getting a Time Out.

This is NOT an HIV situation. Period.

Go ahead and tested if you need the inevtiable negative result to let go of your unwarranted concern.

Trishul,

What about the sentence "You were NOT at risk for hiv infection" do you not understand?

You did not have a risk. You do not have hiv.

Anxiety can cause GI issues and general aches and pains, particularly in the chest and abdominal areas. Keep working with your doctor to find out what, if anything, is wrong with you. It will not be hiv as you did NOT have a risk.

If you cannot bring yourself to believe us, then test at three months, collect your negative result and get on with your life.

If you read the Welcome Thread before posting like you're supposed to, you will have read the following posting guideline:

Quote

Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

Please consider yourself warned!

Of course you tested negative. You were never at risk and there was never a need to get tested.

You are HIV negative. Cut out the unnecessary drama and get on with your life. Period.
