Wish me luck
« on: March 06, 2011, 09:42:19 PM »
I haven't gotten around to it yet, but I had a low-risk experience where, despite out best intentions, a condom broke twice while I was bottom, resulting in less than 5 seconds exposure, pulling out, putting on a new condom, and resuming.

It was with a boyfriend at the time who, despite his best intentions, only thought he was negative and was truly and completely of unknown status, since I determined later that he had unprotected penetrating intercourse with a friend of "negative" status a month before him and I dated.

That was five months ago.  I'm in a new relationship where we've always been 100% successfully safe, as is my policy.

Tomorrow or Tuesday I'm going in for my quick test.

Sept '07 - neg
Mar '08 - neg
Sept '08 - neg
Mar '09 - neg
Sept '09 - neg
Mar '10 - neg
Sept ' 10 - neg (right before I met the boyfriend with the incident and four months after my previous safe encounter)
Mar '11 is next with very little anxiety and open to the possibility that, since I will be testing with my current boyfriend of five months whom I trust completely, may be my last :-)

Wish me luck and to all those who have had low-risk or no-risk exposures, know this:
Any test after 3 months, for all intensive purposes, is definitive and tells you one thing and one thing only: Be relaxed, always wear condoms with everyone outside of a trusted, monogamous partner where the two of you have tested for all STD's together, and don't put yourself in a situation where your inhibitions will be lowered enough where you aren't aware of what's happening or being done to your body.

Creighton, you have actually not tested positive and hopefully your test result is going to be negative. Until if and when you test postiive you should not be posting comments in any Forum other than this one.
That's the rule of this site. Thanks for your cooperation.

Good luck with your test result.

for all intensive purposes,

Um, Creighton, it's "for all intents and purposes". I thought since you decided to come into these forums and give advice you'd at least want to look somewhat literate.

But then again, you never bothered to read the posting rules here. Guess what? They apply to you too.

Good luck with your test.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts
