Crystal Meth and HIV
« on: January 12, 2011, 04:35:03 AM »
First, an apology to the moderators because I couldn't really identify where to post this new topic.

Second, for all the people on the website who are clinicians or researchers, especially those in behavioural sciences, does anyone know any studies citing PERCENT of Crystal meth users (as a whole population, not specific demographics) who test positive for HIV? Keep in mind, I am asking for the percent of crystal meth users(not of other recreational drugs) and second, nor am I asking how many of HIV positives are crystal meth users.

OK, for a start, Off Topic means off the main topic of these forums, which is hiv. Therefore this thread should have been posted in Living and that's why I moved it.

And second, how about you tell us a little about yourself first. Are you hiv positive?

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

Welcome to the Forums

Search your county website for an epidemiology report.  They are filed annually and this information should be included.  In our county there was a grant for a website to offer support for people with HIV which is specific to HIV and meth.  They ignored local talent and hired an agency from Sacramento to build the site, manage it and market it.  Being a local talent ignored for this project, I went to a meeting once.  It was called "stayinformedsonoma"    ;D  Have the best day
