Happy Thanksgiving
« on: November 25, 2010, 09:56:30 AM »
I realize it's an American holiday, but, in my book, it really is a good one. I like that we get together and, if only for a few moments, dwell on what we have as opposed to what we don't have.  Here are some of the things that I am thankful for:

My son who will be "finishing" college (undergrad, anyway) in the Spring and has always stayed away from drugs, alcohol abuse, and problems with the law.

My health and the health of my friends and family. I'm thankful for the science and research that has come before and has ensured that I can manage my illness and not have it control me.

That I am still alive and not anywhere near my "expiration date" which means I have plenty of time left to try to make some dreams come true.

That I have a home and can pay my debts and, currently, have a steady job in such a bad economy when so many others have not been as fortunate.

For the care and compassion of the ID staff at my VA hospital. They are my heroes.

For the AIDSMeds forums and the wonderful people who helped me to accept and to understand my diagnosis and to learn to live with it.

I hope everyone out here has at least one thing to be thankful for and is able to harness the positive energy that comes from our ability to appreciate.

Happy Thanksgiving, All!  ;)
