First Lab Results
« on: November 04, 2010, 10:49:30 AM »
Hello everyone!,
I got my first lab results yesterday and the results were not as good as I expected.
CD4: 200
Viral load: 250,000

My doctor said I have to start treatment immediately...so I'm starting today. The meds I'm starting with are:
- AZT/3TC (Lamivudine/Zidovudine): 2 times a day
- Efavirenz: 1 a day
- Trimethroprim Sulfa: 1 a day
- 2 shots of B12 vitamin per month.

Sometimes I get a little alarmed when I read some of the topic here in the forums, but right now I can only feel gratitude for being alive, feeling healthy and most importantly for having access to medical care and meds. I know inside I'm gonna be alright....things will only get better! :)

Ok, back to work...take care everyone!
Andres.

Andres,

Yes, the numbers were not what you had hoped for but now you know and you have the tools (meds) to fix it.  You're moving in the right direction and you should be proud of yourself for taking charge.  ;D

Best of luck to you, keep us updated on your progress!

Not too bad for not being on meds. Lots of us, myself included, have been much worse. Good luck, stay compliant with treatment and keep us posted. :)

Damn that Efivarenz is strong! hehehe.....I'm still a little dizzy, not sleepy but dizzy, I feel like I had a few cocktails last night....hope this doesn't happen all the time and is only my body adjusting to this new chemicals.
For the rest I feel great!.....
