Here is the introduction:

A very frank, honest, no-holds-barred account of what it has been like to be a gay man struggling to be what everyone else expected him be—and withering away in the process—and what it took for him to become the complete, integrated person he is today, from spirituality to drug and alcohol addiction to full awareness of just who and what he is, and what he was meant to be.

I hope to have this book published; some very good friends have told me it needs to be.  If anyone would be interested in reading more, I'd be happy to share.  I would value any feedback, positive or negative, you may provide.  The intended demographic covers a wide variety of lifestyles, and my hope is that it will help someone out there to keep going 'a little while longer.'

As an introduction to myself, I am a 47-year old LTS of 21 years.  I tested HIV+ in 1988 and 'full-blown' in 1989.  I have been on nearly every class of meds available, leaving me few options should my current regimen falter.

I also suffer from Chronic Pancreatitis  (three years now) and Bipolar II Disorder (thirty years, 'though only diagnosed five years ago).

This book I'm writing is my way of getting out all the stuff I've wanted to say over the past 40 years (it starts nearly twenty years before my diagnosis).  I've told this story in little bits and pieces to a number of friends and doctors over the years; this time it's all of it, in one fell swoop.  All the anguish and fear, all the hate and anger, all the guilt and shame, all the concern over others' "stigmas," it's all starting to fade now; this is the most cathartic thing I have ever done in my life.

"No fear."
