New Orleans Empowerment Conference
« on: August 31, 2010, 07:16:23 PM »
The NO/AIDS Task Force will sponsor its annual Empowerment conference, Friday, September 10, 2010 at the New Orleans Marriott at the Convention Center, 859 Convention Center Blvd in New Orleans, from 8 am to 3:30pm.

For 2010, the theme is 'Who Dat? We Dat!' in keeping with our local football championship mania [Go Saints ... had to toss that in!!] and will focus on various PLWHA empowerment topics .

The all day event is FREE to its participants and is aimed at PLWHAs statewide in Louisiana and regional states. The conference brings PLWHA's together and reminds us that we're not alone and encourages us to empower ourselves and each other.

Anyway, though it doesn't explain the event well, below is online link

http://www.noaidstaskforce.com/article.php?story=empowerment2010
[pre-registrations is highly desired and helpful]  or at http://www.noaidstaskforce.org

My first attendance was two yrs ago, I was on a panel last year for HIV advocacy. Topics are generally on adherence, health concerns, SEX and HIV, women and HIV, disclosure, etc.

I highly encourage this FREE event for consumers in LA or Gulf South as a chance to come together, gain knowledge and empower ourselves over a meal. Shoot me a PM if you have further questions. Hope to see you there!!

Kewl, I plan to get there by 830ish am. Glad you can make it.
There's very little free parking in the area, but there's some if you can hike a little; otherwise, there's a lot close by that's $10 nearby. Who Dat? Bro.
