I don't do sentimental....oh, how I shock myself
« on: July 25, 2010, 09:53:55 AM »
I have a friendship with someone (we'll just describe it as that, otherwise it gets too complicated!) This is the only friend I have disclosed to - a number of weeks ago. I always knew ours was a friendship based on intensity but after I disclosed to this huge, strong, non-emotional, silent-type hunk-of-a-man he told me he couldn't describe what our friendship meant to him other than my status would not change anything, but a few days ago, I got this in my inbox:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvvppWfHxxE

The sentiment overwhelmed me, his reaction overwhelmed me, the kindness and care overwhelmed me. So I've just responded with this:

I don't normally do soppy........

Realist,

His vid was certainly Bob Dylanesque ( brought back memories). A fine tribute.

Your vid was an appropriate response (Gaga said it all).

Now go for it!

Good luck!

Sweet.
Is he "just" a friend?

Lady Gaga sounds nice and natural. I enjoyed reading the comments under the video, while listening.

Sweet! If a "huge, strong, non-emotional, silent-type hunk-of-a-man" sent me that first song, I will would grab him and hang on for dear life and not look back. There are few opportunities out there and when you get one, grab it. Thanks for sharing love Gaga, but Paolo is now a new find.

He was a bit more for a while but he is "just" now.

Tried that - it isn't possible, hence the "its complicated" bit. But that's life. I know what you mean though, hence why I was kinda floored by it. There was me thinking about loving and losing. It would appear he's not lost yet..... ;) ;) ;D   I'm 15 again lol

That is a fun feeling isnt it?  Let nature take its course with this one.  I think that most of us want to share our life with someone special.  Those truly special people do not come into our lives every day.  Life holds no guarantees either.  Be charming, honest, and give him some attention.  Those are some basic things that will keep him close by.  Have fun!

I've just responded with this:

The whole song conversation is going to have to stop now, so I'll call him tomorrow and sorry I won't be sharing - this is getting waaaaaaaaaay too personal to be sharing!

I still feel like a 15 year old - confused!.

I suppose he's a sweet man and all, but his music taste is kinda meh!  Paolo Nutini and Jason Mraz.  Tell him to dedicate something with a little more substance the next time around.

I still feel like a 15 year old - confused!.

Good luck with your teenage love affair, Ms. Keys :)

He had me on the first song, but as with most men the second time around I got bored, or that song bored me. The third time should be a charm, keep us posted.
