New Relationships
« on: May 15, 2010, 12:16:10 PM »
At 58, I never thought it would happen, and had practically dismissed the thought of finding a partner from my mind.

However...last July I met a guy while I was visiting a friend in another city and we hit it off.  Subsequently we corresponded frequently by email and after three months he came down for a one-month visit.  Oh, we discovered some differences and had some arguments...yet we both came away from the visit with very possitive impressions.

To my surprise, he decided to move here and in with me in another three months.  That was three months ago.  Things are going well, but it has been a real learning or acclimiation curve.  It's different when someone shares your enviroment every day, especially if you've been used to living alone.  It's an exploration of what's inside another person, a person who loves you.  You trial-and-error your way through many things, not the least of which is communication.

Since February when Greg moved in, our comfort level with each other has deepened and grown.  I can tell him I don't like a movies he does, I can tell him I don't like some certain thing he cooks, and I can ask questions about things I don't understand.

I realize the above is not all that exciting to read, but I'd sure benefit from and be curious about other guys in LTRs, what kind of adjustment it was to begin living together, how disagreements were handled, and how things change as time goes by together.

Thanks!
Gary
