What will you be independent from today?
« on: July 04, 2010, 09:16:44 AM »
Happy Independence day to those of us in the United States.  Rather than celebrate the country's independence I've chosen to use the holiday to improve my life.  Sort of like New Year's resolutions.

I'm getting independent from clutter at my desk.  I completely tore down my 8x8 cubicle and made my desk a built-in so I can look over my monitors and see outside.  I put in more shelves and more work area which will get rid of dust, dirt, and clutter.

So what are you going to be independant from today?
Don't obsess over the wrong things.  Life isn't about your numbers, it isn't about this forum, it isn't about someone's opinion.  It's about getting out there and enjoying it.   I am a person with HIV - not the other way around.

The pile of dishes in my sink and on my counters since I was a housekeeping sloth, working full time in last weeks heatwave.
Half way through. There are even those little flies - disgusting!

I am independent from fear. I am independent from what others may think of me...most of the time. I am independent of my past as truth. I am independent of having this HIV+ define who I am but realize that it is only part of me. I am independent of judging others so harshly and myself. I declare independence on each of these things creating freedom in me as wisdom, wholeness and peace. I am independent!

Happy 4th.
Jeff

We cleaned up the kitchen and living room.  We started a bathroom remodel and dust was everywhere and all the bathroom stuff piled up in the living room.  Now, I got to start on basement and my ping-pong table that is full of papers and mail.  I need a huge filing cabinet.
