OK.. lessons learned..
« on: July 01, 2010, 01:30:59 AM »
Lessons about women, I mean.

So today is a public holiday here and after weeks of rain we finally have some nice weather. So last night I asked a close female friend from the support group if she would like to come to hang out on the beach, etc, on the island and she happily accepted and said she would bring her dog.

As it turned out, the ferry services wouldn't allow dogs unless they are muzzled. I never knew that cos, well, I never have a dog. So when she arrived at the pier for a nicer speed service ferry, she was told that she couldn't bring that tiny pet with her and had to wait for the regular ferry. Except they forgot to mention that the dog would still need to be muzzled. So she waited for like 20 mins and finally when the regularly ferry arrived, she was rejected again.

She called and got very upset and the followings are approximately our conversation:

Me: "I am sorry. They should have let you in."

She: "How many times I have to tell you they won't. Don't you think I have reasoned with them, that being only a small dog and she won't bite! Why are you so argumentative all the time!"

Me: "Well sorry. I don't mean to argue... I mean they're wrong to not let you in."

She: (yelling) "You know you're so intolerable! You never listen and you just like to argue! I don't know why I was able to bear talking to you at all! You know you should really think hard on how you're affecting others all the time when you're so argumentative!"

Me: "Well, I am sorry..."

She: "I am going home now!" (Hung up)

Now I have to think of ways to make her happy again.. I am glad I am gay. ;)

I'm not touching this topic with a ten foot pole.  Jan is already planning my demise in vegas for an innocuous comment about burning things with fire.

Well, you lads can be glad you're gay because we women can be unreasonable bitches at times, but you men can be unreasonable bitches at times too.

That's why I'm glad I'm bi. :D

Hmmm, I am glad you cleared that up, Komnaes. It almost sounded like it was being said that all women were like her. Or at least that was how I was looking at it. It sounds to me your friend was upset over the situation and took it out on you which was wrong. I think she owes you an apology and there is no need for you to do anything to make her happy. Why should you when you did nothing wrong in the first place? Give her a call in a few days when she calms down.

*eyeing Hellraiser*.........I see you......

You are truly rare and your husband should be grateful to have found such a gem.  I dated a woman like you once.  She loved to fish and watch football games.  She was a happy person, a good person, a righteous woman... AMEN.

Hey Komnaes, if you guys are/were close, could there be baggage? Just wondering, nothing personal.  ;) Perhaps it's good to have a chat with her face to face to see if there are hidden stuff to sort out. Good friends shouldn't have to talk to each other like that , especially over small issues like that.

I don't normally tolerate men or women who are rude. It took me a while to decide that I have as much right to a great day as the next guy/gal next to me and I'm not about to let anyone fuck it up just cos they are having cramps or a brain freeze.

I recently had a run in below my apartment with a butch lesbian (a nice neighbor's companion) over her ill treating some stray cats. She yelled at me for questioning her dislike for cats and I stormed back verbally and followed her into the lift and gave her an intense verbal lashing for her acute lack of humanity on animals and her gall for daring to talk to me so rudely. I half expected her to pull out her knuckles to fight but she retreated with her head down and apologized when she saw I was about to tear her head off with my anger had she wanted a fight. She avoided me the next time she was with my neighbor. When my neighbor sensed something was amissed, she asked me alone the next time why I became tensed at her "friend"? I related what happened. Being an animal lover herself, she was shocked and apologized and was angry for what had happened. I told her to just forget it cos it was not necessary for her to apologize for her friend's misdeed but stated that I will not hesitate to repeat my stance again should I catch her friend ill treating any stray again. She agreed.  >:(

Jokes aside, I always seriously thought lesbians love cats. :D Meow. What a surprise?  ???
Anyways, at least the cats are ok now.    :)
Women and cats - love them but do know some of them scratch !  :D ;D ;)

No cliff notes, but I can't spell my name in the snow either. I can do a great puddle though!

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

Jokes aside, I always seriously thought lesbians love cats. :D Meow. What a surprise?  ???
Anyways, at least the cats are ok now.    :)

I have certainly met men who are bigger pains in the ass than any woman I know.  Gay and straight.

I used to pee outside when I was an active drinker of the spirits, yep standing up.

Shauny, I just can't picture anyone talking mean to you; you're such a sweetie.  There may have been something else going on with her.  Or she was upset with the situation, and unfortunately took it out on you.  Is the relationship worth salvaging?  Good luck.

Sounds to me like the OPs friend is a character (and yeah there may be "baggage") and I'm not sure the snit fit was gender based.

One woman's puddle is another woman's artwork. I saw these in the Terpentine Gallery in London in 1994 - piss flowers by Helen Chadwick.

If you're trying to imply that women smell like fish, then I'm offended. I've never smelled like fish in my entire life.

Like you could be any kind of expert when it comes to women anyway. Sheesh.

I'm aware of that.  I just wanted to "settle the score," so to speak.

LOL...I fart in public too and it's easy to get away with because mine are silently but deadly if you walk into it.

Mine rarely ever smell...honestly.  But they are insanely loud.  I don't think I've ever had a silent fart in my life.  I think a few have actually registered on the richter scale, now that's a serious butt rumble.

I had the prettiest dragqueen living with me once.  He was young though, I think like 17-18ish.  but emotional wise it was like taking 10 women on the rag and dumping them into one body.  After a week I was dodging him and his boyfriend who lived there too.

The greatest things in my life though, I've learned from my gay roommates.  Like that milk can go in tea...(too me that was a major discovery lol)

when it came to my relationships though with ex girlfriends I was pretty much the butch of the relationship.

Which is why I question any man who dates me or get's with me, secretly I think there all gay but I'm the closest they can get without coming out of the closet and admitting it themselves LOL. both of my ex husbands turned out to be Bi after the relationship ended.  an ex boyfriend of mine is now a Drag Queen in Nashville. and my husband now, he acts really homophobic but I know it's all a cover.
