Woot finally started meds! =)
« on: April 04, 2010, 03:32:10 AM »
wanted to share, I'm very happy to finally be starting meds and it does take an edge off of being kinda skittish and nervous.

They put me on Truvada,Norvir, and reyataz and I'm still taking the bactrim. Doc said she was pretty confident that next time I walk in there my numbers should be back over 200 and I should be undetectable so I'm hoping she's right =).

My strain showed having no resistance and everything else looks good.  Been taking the meds for three days, had a bit of a woozy feeling the first day but nothing the past two days.

Good news indeed!

You should have no trouble with this combo, the side effect profile is low (you might turn a little yellow but that's OK) and it is more forgiving resistance wise when it comes to missing the odd dose.

yea doc said something about yellow eyes. My husband has been teasing me to no  end and everytime I take the meds he waits about an hour then wants to see my eye's. I'm just happy he can find something humorous in this mess =).

and I just realized that even though I wasn't diagnosed until Christmas Eve, this month would make 4 years of having the virus.  So I think I'm not doing too shabby.  I know completely random but I'm beyond tired and my mind is scatter brained right now.

When I started Atazanavir I went bright yellow for about 10 days. I looked like a big gay banana. :)

I'm so glad things are going well.  That is the same regimen I will start.  Please keep us posted on your progress.  Also, tell your hubby hello.  He obviously loves you very much.

This is a very cool combo! Very few side effects, and GREAT long term prospects! Add a bunch of fiber to your diet (Norvir can be the roughest). But other than that, you have a great deal going! And from what I hear, they are making a better version of Norvir ready in the US this year :)

You ought to be absolutely fine on this.

Hey Rave, glad to see that you have finally started, baby girl.  I expect to hear great things from you in the next couple of months.

Best of luck and health  :).

Glad to hear you're doing good sweetheart.  I was actually wondering what you had been up to since your retreat a few weeks back cause we hadn't heard much out of you.  Then again I've been a little bit M.I.A. here for a few myself so I may have just missed it.  Good luck on the meds and cheers to better numbers!

Hey everyone =) thank you I am really excited about this. It's been almost a week i take the meds and I am not even getting the slightest bit nausaus (sp?) at all anymore.

Hellraiser, I had a great time! =) There talking about the next retreat being in Gatlinburg.  I made two really cool new friends and I was open with them from the start about the virus, because I didnt want them to find out later on down the road and bail out.  They took it great in fact one of them called me the other day to talk about what she was learning on the web about it, so it really warmed my heart to see a friend go out there and actually do the research and care that much.

But since then yea..I've gotten kinda sucked back into world of warcraft (lol)
