Rep. Bill Pascrell, Jr. of New Jersey has written a letter calling for the support of funding for Domestic HIV/AIDS Prevention, Treatment, and Research (includung ADAP/Ryan White).

We need as many other members of Congress as possible to sign on to this letter!

The first link below takes you to a page that has links to the phone number of your particular Congressperson when you put in your zip code. It also includes helpful information about what to say when you call.

The second link goes to the transcript of Pascrell's letter.

Call Your Member of Congress Today!

Why: The rate of HIV infections in the United States remains steady at a staggering rate of 56,000 new cases per year, while many state and local governments are struggling to maintain their HIV/AIDS programs due to the current economic climate.

If the federal government does not provide the highest level of funding possible to stabilize prevention, treatment, and research programs, the results would be devastating. The situation is dire.

Without increased funds, programs such as the Ryan White Program, Housing Opportunities for People with AIDS, and comprehensive sex education will continue to suffer. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention needs increased funding to continue its prevention efforts as much as the National Institutes of Health needs continued support for its groundbreaking research.

Take Action: Call your Member of Congress today and encourage them to sign on to Representative Bill Pascrell Jr. (D-NJ)'s letter supporting increased funding for domestic HIV/AIDS programs by contacting his staff person, Mandy Spears.  The time to call your Representative is NOW
