Hi, Am i infected with Hiv/AIDS?
« on: February 20, 2010, 09:14:37 PM »
I had a dry sex with another girl who was naked. I was wearing underwear and she was not. We did not have any intercourse like anal, oral, vaginal nor any needles poking our blood. However, i was wondering if her vaginal discharge or blood would get into my wet underwear which i have just cum? Would i be at risk of getting HIV/AIDS? Thanks for answering my questions. I am very worried.

Mike,

HIV is transmitted inside the body. You will not be infected because of blood or other blody fluids which might find their way onto your underpants.

HIV can be spread via unprotected anal or vaginal sex, sharing contaminated injecting equipment and occasionally from HIV positive mother to her unborn infant.

I suggest you read our Welcome Thread and follow the links to our lessons section where you can learn more about how HIV is and is not transmitted.

Sorry, one last question.

My underwear is wet with semen because i cum out. Is there any risks of catching HIV/AIDS if the vaginal fluids or blood touches the semen of my underwear and reaches my uterus of my penis? Is this considered exchanging of fluids? There is no intercourse taken place and it is outside of her body. Thanks alot for answering. I am very worried.

No Mike, that isn't a risk either.

HIV is transmitted during unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse. It is not transmitted through underwear even if the underwear is drenched in semen or other body fluids.

You do not have HIV.

So if i had an ulcer on my mouth and i licked her boobs. Would there be any risks of getting HIV/AIDS? I am quite sure there isn't any milky thing or any liquid thing from her boobs....

Anyone who continues to post excessively, questioning a conclusive negative result or no-risk situation, will be subject to a four week Time Out (a temporary ban from the Forums). If you continue to post excessively after one Time Out, you may be given a second Time Out which will last eight weeks. There is no third Time Out - it is a permanent ban. The purpose of a Time Out is to encourage you to seek the face-to-face help we cannot provide on this forum.

So you mean it is unlikely to be infected of HIV/AIDS from the breasts of the girls who might be HIV/AIDS positive and i having 2 ulcers in my mouth doing lickings and sucking? So it is very unlikely right? Thanks alot.

Mike,

As Matty has already mentioned, sexually speaking, hiv is transmitted during unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse. These are the only proven sexual risks.

Hiv is not spread by skin to skin contact, kissing, sucking tits, or any other sort of sexual contact where the penis is not being inserted into an anus or vagina.

Here's what you need to know in order to remain hiv negative:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST OVER ANY OF THE ACTIVITIES YOU BRING TO US, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Thanks for all your reply. I was so worried that my ulcers in my mouth might be infected due to sucking of breasts. Finally i am glad now. And sure, i would only have sex with my one and only partner and remain faithful.

So i assume i do not need to take a HIV test even if i got ulcers in my mouth where the vaginal fluid/ blood might get into it. And also vaginal fluid or blood might get in through my underwear?

Hey! Are you listening? It doesn't seem so. You just keep reciting the same fear over and over again even though you have been told without any doubt that you were not at risk during this incident.

No, there is no need for testing. But if you continue to come back here with your same doubts and repeating the same questions you are very quickly going to find yourself getting a 28 day Time Out from the site.

HIV is happily not a problem for you this time. And as long as you consistently use condoms for vaginal and anal intercourse, you won't have a problem in the future about the sexual transmission of HIV. It's just that simple.

I understand that i may seem to be abit annoying. But however, because i have read forums and articles about HIV/AIDS. Most of them have said that you might be at risk because of open sores or spots that both the partners have.

Thus this lead me to worrying as ulcers in my mouth is also considered the open sores/spots which HIV/AIDS might get into it and infected.

I am not trying to recite the same fear over and over again. I am just clearing my doubts from what i read through the articles and forums i read about HIV/AIDS

If you continue to surf the net I can guarantee you will find misinformation to feed your worst fears. All to no useful purpose of course.

We have given you the real deal about your totally non-risk situation. You don't have to believe what we have told you although it's totally grounded in HIV science. But I can tell you that you aren't going to be permitted to just keep coming back here again and again simply because you have another worry thought or another detail to throw into the mix. You didn't have a risk for HIV transmission. Period!

Cut it out and get on with your life. Otherwise you are going to quickly find yourself getting a time out for 28 days from this site.

And if you haven't already read it or even if you have re-read our lesson on Transmission. You get all of the basics there about sexual risk for HIV.

hey hi.....well....i am just wondering why do some websites provide information which says the testing of HIV/AIDS is not accurate as the HIV/AIDS virus may take up to even years to actually cause any harm.....Well is that true?

In other words, if a person has a negative in the testing within 6months of the window periods......Then the person might be positive after 10years when the person takes the test again?

Thanks

Mike,

You're confused. When a person is infected with HIV, antibodies to the virus will show up in their blood within 3 months of being infected. It's usually takes 4-6 weeks, but some folks take a little longer and thus there is a 3 month window period.

Such a person is said to be HIV antibody positive.

AIDS is a different thing. AIDS is caused by HIV infection and can take many years to develop although some people can progress to AIDS comparatively quickly. All people with AIDS have HIV infection but not everyone with HIV has AIDS.

You don't need to concern yourself with AIDS since you do not have HIV, the virus which causes AIDS.
