Artipla - Daily Dose Same Time?
« on: December 06, 2009, 05:24:30 PM »
First off this forum is amazing.  I am on day 2 of Atripla and have found so much helpful information here about side effects, what to expect, etc.  So far I'm doing ok, little dizziness, mild odd feeling in stomach (could be nerves) but otherwise surprised at no major side effects just yet.  Keeping fingers crossed.

I decided to begin taking my med at 10pm, an hour before bedtime.  Thing is, sometimes I like to stay up a little later on the weekends.  Is it ok if I took my pill at 11pm or midnight once in a while instead of my every night at 10pm?   With the holiday season coming up I know there will be nights I might be out a little later than 10pm (not that my social calendar is that exciting, but it can happen).

Thanks for any info.

I've taken my Atripla within 2 hours before or after my usual dosage time, and it's had no effect.  I still remain undetectable.  We SHOULD take it at the same time every day, but for me, slipping a bit early or late hasn't been a problem.  Just don't skip it!

My ID Doc told me to take atripla at the same time each day until I reached undetectable levels. Once you are undetectable for a few months, you just need to take it once a day. This is what my ID Doc advised.

That is fine but I've been told that if you take it an hour later than usual, then you're supposed to do 10 jumping jacks and sing a Madonna song to get your body to process the meds faster.
