No need to hold back Ann. Jan, it's because their shite.

Cliff,

England do appear to have a good draw. Meanwhile, Australia GAGS at is pretty tough draw and prospects of making the round of 16. Oh well.

And, Cliff, who will you support in the England v USA match?

Yes, you guys are supposedly in the Group of Death.  Group B & E are pretty damn tough too.

My international support goes (in this order):

USA
England
Georgia

I'll be supporting the USA when they play England.

Georgia! where does that come from?

I used to generally support England in football, when we were shite and never made the world cup. In 2010 I'll be supporting the Commonwealth - Aus, NZ, then England, then South Africa. However, I'd love nothing better than to beat the poms in the round of 16.

And, Jan, I also meant to add that there is no need to worry about the Scott's as the Kiwi's are there. Yay!!!

Oh yeah, good point....I will be rooting for South Africa too!  But they have a tough draw as well!!!

My boyfriend is Georgian.

I can't wait for next Summer!  I was working in Paris last World Cup (doesn't seem like that was 4 years ago) and it was a blast leaving work early to check out matches in various British/Irish pubs and seeing the city erupt when they made the final.  They celebrated in the streets all night long (actually it got a bit annoying after a while).

I think it's so cute that the US is trying to play football.

Anyway, apart from who's gonna beat whom, who are the players to look out for?

Ha!  Was it cute in 1950!  Saw our UK Ambassador on the Andrew Marr show this AM and he can't wait for the Americans to give the Brits a good spanking next year!

Not sure about the players yet!

One could also say that about England, the biggest chokers in World Cup history. You invented the game and have only managed to win one World Cup.

Mark,

Germany has to get past Australia, Ghana and Serbia first in its pool matches. It's no certainty they will be there to knock England out.

Roughly roundabout somewhere in the eighteenth or nineteenth century, Sodomite begat Homosexual out of moral, medical and legal models, bequeathing him Identity, who inbred with Nuclear Family and Industrialism to spawn Homophobia.
