Cosmetic Surgery
« on: September 22, 2009, 12:55:40 PM »
Hi Everyone...I am wanting to have some cosmetic surgery done and I am looking into having it done overseas. Having said that...has anyone here experienced a cosmetic procedure overseas and if so would you mind sharing with me your experiences such as: what agency did you go through setting the procedure up ( I have done a bit of research and have found quite a few of them and I am not sure who is reputable and who is not), which overseas hospital/doctors are more amenable to working on a person with HIV (like here in the states I have found many overseas doctors unwilling to perform elective surgeries on individuals with HIV), and any other suggestions/directions would be very helpful as well.  I want to make sure I have researched this thoroughly and have talked with others who have pursued this route before I take the plunge.

By "overseas" I assume you mean outside the US. What kind of surgery are you interested in and why do you want to travel to do it?

Mostly economics is steering me to do this overseas.  I have lived overseas and have known a couple of women who have had procedures done and they looked great.   I want to have some liposuction, facial restoration and dental reconstruction performed.

Cosmetic procedures are big in countries like Brazil. I would guess you would want to know how much experience they had. I had PMMA injections in Rio for lipoatrophy and it went well but I don't know about other procedures.
