How long was I gone?
« on: September 08, 2009, 05:42:35 PM »
I was diagnosed in May of 09.  Since then I have had a number of problems,  thrush, had a scope done, allergic reactions to bactrim,  back and forth to the dr.  I had been so down and depressed also while fighting this ailments.  Somedays I didn't want to t get outta bed,  and I didnt.  I would sleep sometimes for 12-14 hours.  My housework I would let go which is so not like me...I am very particular!
My yard work my son and bf would take turns coming into town and helping me with it.  Usually just the front yard because it grows twice as fast as the back and I would always tell them,  Ill do the back later!

Well I finally started feeling better physically.  My bf took me and my youngest son on vacation last week.  We rented a log cabin and then went to the beach for a couple days.  We had a really good time and it made a world of difference for me.

I actually was in the mood to mow yesterday!  and I had energy!!  I felt like my old self again, out mowing, weedeating and etc.  I felt happy.  It was a perfect day weather wise here.

While I was mowing though I noticed how tall and bushy everything was,  especially in the back yard.  It really upset me that I had let it go for so long!!  I thought to myself,  How long was I gone for?  thats what it felt like.  That I had been gone somewhere.

To anyone else it probably didnt look to bad but to me it was terrible.  It kinda upset me to know that I have been so out of it and sick....made me realize it was more serious than I thought it was at the time.

I am feeling better now..Have only been sleeping 8 hours and feel rested.  I am getting ready for a bike ride now!  Something I havent done in a while!!

so now on to the next stage...I got my atripla in the mail today....will start that tomorrow.  Keep your fingers crossed.  I can feel the depression wanting to come back but I am fighting it,  between fighting hiv and other personal problems being relationship and financial its hard alot of days...

Let you know how it goes!  :-)

Welcome back Red! I almost wrote to you yesterday --on your other thread-- to see if you had received your meds [and started them].   Glad to read that you are in better spirits.  Bit by bit you will be moving on.  Good luck with the Atripla!

Hi Red,

Glad to hear your doing better, I was also diagnosed in May 2009. I was also dealing and am still dealing with depression. I have been on the meds since June and physically feel alot better. Though I have a really bad sore throat right now, which the doc said it wasn't thrush, and my throat culture came back neg for strep. I think its from smoking so much.

Emotionally, I still have problems I am seeing a therapist which is helping alot. I just try to be very active, I either ride my harley or do things around the house ( which there is always something to do, like you I like a well kept yard and house, everyone calls me Felix from The Odd Couple show).

Overall, I think I'm doing pretty good and it sounds like you will to. Going on the meds for me really helped me physically and emotionally. Just knowing I was doing something about this virus thats in me.

So, what I'm trying to say is I'm with you buddy and things will continue to get better

Best to you with the meds
