HIV by kissing?
« on: August 24, 2009, 01:04:59 PM »
Ok, I know I asked this question in the spanish questions forum but I want more opinions in this one please. I know this question is stupid by nature but I need an answer(s) to calm down my fears. The thing is that I frenchkissed with a man like 1 1/2 week and my only question here is that if one of my tonsils or gums were bleeding a littke while I were frenchkissing does that put me at risk of HIV? Or both people would have to bleed so there could be a risk? Or simply there's no risk? Thank you very much.

Guy, you've already had an answer to your question. In English or Spanish, the answer is the same. And the answer was/is there was no risk. Rules of the Forum do not allow for asking the same question in two different sections.

Your saliva has over a dozen elements and proteins which very effectively inhibit the transmission of HIV. Kissing is not a risk for HIV transmission, including deep kissing and with a sore in the mouth and whatever other details your anxiety causes you to throw into the mix.

There is no basis in HIV science for your fears. There is no need for testing. Let it go and get on with your life.

Ok Andy, I got it. After finally reading so many posts with the same question I finally could convince myself that I didn't do anything wrong. And I agree with so many guys here that they are well misinformed when "expert" people tell them by phone the risks and no-risks because I freaked out that one told me that I had to test for that single episode of frenchkissing. This site is awesome, keep it up with all the good work you've done (and still do) here. And Ann...thank you very much to you also because you've answered my question indirectly a lot of times here as I was reading. Saludos a todos. :)

You're welcome.

Phone info can be a risk ...for totally inaccurate responses.

Glad you found the site to be helpful.
