Home again...and ready for next year
« on: August 10, 2009, 03:21:52 PM »
Hubby, Mim, and I are safely nestled back home.  We touched down in Pittsburgh at 8:40am (up at 4am, shuttle left at 5am, flight out at 7am).  After picking up the rest of our crew and visiting with my parents, we pulled into the old homestead about 2:30.  It was a bitter sweet moment for us.

AMG 09 was wonderful.  I loved seeing old friends again and meeting new ones.  I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for the kindness you once again showed to our Wee One.  You all spoiled her so bad that it took an entire suitcase to get her stuff home.  Hubby had a great time, too.  He was able to see first hand why you all mean so much to me.

Thank you to Gary for organizing the Memorial Service - it was very touching and a wonderful venue.  Thank you to Dennis for researching and organizing the different events.  Everything turned out wonderfully.  We had a great time.

I do have some apologies to make.  First to Bonnie: sorry we never got to do the sleepover.  Time went so fast that we were never able to get Mim there.  But, there's always next year ;).  Next, Basquo: a thank you and an apology in one.  Thank you SO very much for thinking of bringing soy milk for Mim all the way from Texas.  I'm sorry she never drank any of it and you had to lug it back home again.  It was so thoughtful of you and touched my heart.  And Robert: you missed out on the homework, hun.  I know how very much you were looking forward to it ;).  I guess we'll have to email you all the questions - but no cheating.

Here's to safe journeys home.  See you next year!

Glad the crew made it home safely.  We will "toast" you all at the Red Sox game tonight!  It was a treasure to have Mini sing at our memorial service.  So nice to see you again and to meet your husband.

Um, actually, I didn't lug it from Texas, or else I probably would have thought to buy small containers!  but I did walk the almost-mile to Whole Foods and schlep it back...and then I schlepped it back to Texas and I will chill it and have a glass for Mini! Chalk it up to Basquo needing to walk more after the surgery...so thank YOU! (also Whole Foods in Boston doesn't sell wine so it really was an excercise trip for me  ;) )

Hi Mum, Hubby, and Mini

Glad to hear you all made it home safely.  It was wonderful to see Mini again, (even if she didn't remember me   ;)).

Your Hubby was such a nice person, and watching him interact with the 3 little ones, made it very obvious what a fantastic father he is.  Such a special person.

Take care and have a wonderful year.

RAB, he's still talking about your "cuddle" invitation.  ;D  Instead of sending him to the dog house, I'll just send him to YOUR house  ::)

Hubby had such a great time.  He's usually not very social around strangers (and who's stranger than our group?).  He said that after hearing me talk about y'all for the last year and a half, there were no strangers.  He even identified Nick correctly as he stood (sat) sentry outside of the Chandler in case we got lost on Thursday.

Give the "stray lady" a kiss from us ;)

Mum, Mini, and hubby,

It was really nice meeting you all.  I didn't get to spend too much time with you guys, but I'm glad I at least got to meet you. Mini's adorable ( especially when sleeping on the train!!lol). Funny, in the small amount of time I got to see her she seemed a little less outgoing than I'd expected.  But she's definitely as sweet as I expected~

Hope to see you all again next year.
