I think I need to hang out here more often.
« on: August 12, 2009, 08:07:32 PM »
I am a 42 yr old Hetero male in NY.  Still trying to get a grip with this, as I am less than a year infected.  The toughest challenge is the same for me a s i have been reading on a lot of your posts here.  Terrified to disclose so as not to have it get out.  I am posted on POz personals and Positivesingles, but not having  great luck.  i hope that changes.  besides the fact that this whole ordeal has pushed me away from friends and family, it has made me even lonelier still knowing how difficult it is to find someone.  Not sure I would even date a negative person at all.  Anyhow, thanks for letting me vent.  There is not Hetero men forum here...lol.

Mpositive, I hope you find what you're looking for, but you're not supposed to be posting here.  This is the women's forum.  Please read the welcome thread if you have any questions.

Hey M ~ just wanted to say that i hope you can find the support you need from other people with similar experiences and concerns to yours.  i know a handful of hetero poz men - they are among the most isolated HIV+ people i know, and i know a lot of folks living with HIV - men, women, transgender, and other.  As a poz woman i have found some support for poz women (mostly in major urban areas) but there is almost ZERO support and almost no resources for poz hetero men and negative hetero men in relationships with poz women.  feel free to PM me if you would like to be connected with other hetero poz men, i can try to facilitate something...

I understand dating isn't easy.  In the past, I too tried the PositiveSingles route too.  Unfortunately, it turned out to be a big waste of time.  Over the last year, I've been too busy with my own medical problems where I haven't given dating much thought.   Later in the future, I would like to get back into the swing of things.

Good luck to you and this is the perfect place to vent---here the FORUMS.
