Health drink for cheap
« on: June 08, 2009, 07:51:04 PM »
;)A while back I red about Superfood, a tasty mix of juices and grasses that's full of  vitamins and antioxidents and nothing that "Cleanses Toxins" (our meds are, well, toxins). The good news is now nobody can afford 8.99 a half gallon so our local grocer is selling it out for a couple bucks or so. That's like fancy Orange Juice, if you're somewhere our prices don't make sense. I'm makin' hay. And drinkin' it.

What is your mother tongue.  Can we help clarify what you want to say, because i don't follow you.

"Superfood" is expensive, so the local grocer has decided to offer it at a greatly reduced price.

"Make hay while the sun shines" means you should harvest your hay on the sunny days of fall, before damp weather sets in and ruins your hay, and infers that you should take advantage of opportunities while they are available.

His followup about drinking the hay is a play on the same phrase and brings in the idea that hay is a grass and many health drinks, such as "Superfood," contain grass juice.

Speaking of opportunities, I see you missed your opportunity to use question marks.

There was a recent study that a bowl of Crunch Berries and milk before going to the gym is equal or better than an pricey "sports drink"... for what it's worth.

Just remember that Crunch Berries are not real fruit, as a judge had to tell someone in California last month.

I was always a sucker for the health-food marketing slogan of "reducing toxins" but now that I'm HIV+ it kind of rubs me the wrong way.
I think juicing helped me beat off EBV/CFS epstein barr chronic fatique in the late 80's --- but now my specialists in Switzerland say CFS didn't even exist, a myth.
Maybe we just need whole fresh foods and lots of water.
For what its worth, I spend my hard earned cash on champagne and wine -- and drink liters of really cheap tea I make at home - mint tea and green tea and various other herbs. Tend to look for "anti-inflammatory" properties (such as green tea and mint).  I had a reflexologist test and it came out that mint tea is excellent for me.
I miss all the fresh juice bars of New York.

I'm with you Rod. I even used fall asleep watching porn. :D. Now I just let porn watch me sleep. LOL. ;)

Fresh whole foods and water always help in everything, so juicing is just another subset of good nutrition. Sufficient good quality rest/sleep is paramount  & basic actually.

Miss P -
the tea ingredients are bio and expensive, but finally its cheap as a drink cause I make it and a pack of loose green tea makes a lot!

Rapid -

If you have time and can get your hands on making some Kombucha yourself, it will pack more nutrients in too as its popular base is using green tea. Adding mint is optional.  ;)
