Against all odds

As we walk the pathway,
We call life,
Do we encounter people,
Good or bad,
Materialistically we build,
A life of comfort,
We perceive that with this materialism
Comes full happiness and joy,
Though loneliness sets in
Though friends surrounds us,
Believing they are true,
To us, our being
But when all is lost,
These superficial friends
Of this life of pretence,
Has faded into the darkness
Like a thieve in the night,
So will those friends fade away
The comforts are gone,
The material possessions
A distant memory as those
We call friends
As we do our spiritual transition
To the afterlife,
All that we accumulated,
The wealth the possessions
Will be nothing more than
Blink of an eye
The social groups we once held
Part of our being will disappear
Like the mist of winter
The difference between rich
Poor will be that of a robber
Of all the riches in this world
Against all odds we are no different
But all the same…
Bide the Wiccan law ye must,
In perfect love and perfect trust
Eight words the Wiccan Rede fulfill
An' ye harm none, do what ye will.

What ye send forth comes back to thee,
so ever mind the Law of three,
follow this with mind and heart,
Merry ye meet, and merry ye part.
