Big mistake. Oh God
« on: March 11, 2009, 10:33:34 PM »
Let me say that this site is very helpful.
I am really worried and scared.
Last time I had sex was march 22. I had an HIV test in Feb for instance that happened in oct. 2008.

This is serious.
I had sex with a transsexual prostitute. I let her give me oral with no condom.
Things got heavy and we made out. (STUPID me).
Then I performed anal on her with a condom. She was too tight so we continued to make out. then she put my penis in her anus with no condom for 30 seconds(half way in).'sigh
then i pulled out since i want to use a condom.
She then stared to insert her penis in me with a condom. I don't really like that because i am really tight.
she stopped after 2 minutes. we then started to go back to kissing and then she inserted her penis head in my anus for about 30 seconds until i stopped her since there was no condom.
Since she was tight too she then gave me a handjob with no condom and i unloaded.
Sorry to anyone who thinks this is explicit.
I went home depressed as always for not using a condom and letting the  moment get to me.
I examined my anus  and did not see any bleeding but hurt for the next 2 days.
After a week i noticed a large node on the back/right side of my neck that is swollen.
My penis started to feel funny on the tip that week.
Now it is 2.5 weeks and my urethra is slightly irritated but ok when i pee.
I started to get a slight headache, my stomach feels like I did not eat in days most of the time. I did eat regularly although my appetite is weak. I am tired and short of breath(i don't feel like it is a  full breath).
I was sick in the beginning of Feb. and don't know if that is related.

I am going to get a comprehensive std test as well as a quick prick hiv test.
Do you think  my chances of being  + is high.
I am praying that i don't have HIV.
Thanks in advanced.

The time line that you are talking about for the brief unprotected incident is not clear. Your risk relatively low. It was a single and brief incident in which you were the insertive partner.

You do have to get tested and for a final result you should do that at 13 weeks. Low risk is not the same as no risk. In the future make sure to use a condom everytime and you will be well protected.

Nothing else you have reported put you at risk.

I did receive as well. She penetrate me without a condom for 30sec to a minute. Then I told her to put a condom on.

I took a hiiv quick test today. ( I had to follow up on a previous test. As well as this situation )

Another question. How long would it take for someone to develop symptoms? The specialist said it takes years.
I am worried since my lymph nodes on my neck and groin area are enlarged.

-Thanks

Symptoms are never reliable in diagnosing HIV. A lot of people never have symptoms when infected. The only way to know if you were infected is by testing.

Until then - you should try not to worry about it and instead be mindful of the node on your penis.
the lymph node is on the groin area, not the penis. I don't see any lesions on my penis.
I am wondering if having symptoms after 2 weeks is normal for HIV?
also does anyone know a good std site for more questions?
-Thanks

Carpe, you are not authorized to respond to questions in this section. Only those authorized by the site are supposed to do that.

And one of your answers was incorrect. Ted did have brief unprotected intercourse, and no matter how brief, that is definitely risky.

Please don't respond to others in this section. Thanks for your cooperation.

Ted, swollen lymph nodes happen for all sorts of reasons. You do need to keep your hands off of them as they are VERY sensitive to touch. By squeezing, fondling or otherwise bothering them you can create a problem where there isn't any.

Neither the presence nor the absence of symptoms will ever tell you anything accurately about your HIV status. Only an HIV test taken at 13 weeks can give you a final and reliable negative result. Your risk was relatively low and chances are you are going to come out of this ok. But low risk is not the same as no risk, so you need to learn from this experience. Have intercourse with whom you want to, BUT make sure whoever is the insertive partner is always without exceptions wearing a latex condom.

Get busy with other things now and your waiting time will pass much more easily than you may imagine is possible. If your symptoms continue to bother you that's something to discuss with your doctor.

Cheers.

Sorry Andy - they should find a mechanism to make folks unable to do that!

And my answer didn't say it was no risk, I said it was "not all that risky," which is a way of saying there is risk but that the chance of transmission is lower than certain other scenarios that could have unfolded.  If you're going to rebuke me, do try to at least rebuke me accurately.  ;)

I'm not going to get into a match about this, Carpe. And since you have edited the passage I was referring to it's moot at this point.

Just please follow our rules, which you would have known about if you read the threads which open the section.

Now that is a fair criticism - yes, I should have read that entire message, which I did not.  Sorry to take this thread off topic...

And thanks for the work you do.

At the risk of being unpleasant - Andy already explained it and I already agreed that it would have been better to have read the whole opening message thread.  Your additional response was unnecessary, and it has kept this thead off-topic when it could have gotten back on track.

Carpe,

Enough of the back-chat. It sounded to me as though you were talking about the first message in THIS thread and I'm assuming that's also what Rodney thought. If you post in this thread or this Am I Infected forum again, you'll be given a time out. This hijack ends here and now.

Thank you for your cooperation. And apologies to Ted.

There are no tests approved to give you a conclusive negative test result before 3 months.

None of your symptoms are in any way HIV-specific. Only an HIV test can tell you your status accurately.

Discuss your symptoms with your doctor if they persist. Right now you are busily and mistakenly interpreting everything that happens to you physically as if it is another sign of HIV. Your risk for HIV was low and the likelihood is that you are going to come out this ok. Lay off of all the drama. That IS bad for your health.

I've been thinking a lot in these past days.
I know I am sick and will see why soon with a doctor.
I believe that people with HIV+ status are very strong people who are somewhat an inspiration.
I know more about std's than ever before. I am going to cut all my stupid sexual acts and focus on my self and family.
I hope that all test are negative and I can look back at this and change my lifestyle.
I hope to one day be an active citizen in HIV/AIDS  awareness.
Now I will have to wait...
thanks for all your quick replies.

Once more, I am trying to look over the situation but I am freaking out.
Yesterday I woke up with my tongue covered in a thin white film.
I did not pay any attention because I sometimes get this from time to time.
I used mouth wash and scraped most of the gunk  off.
Today I woke up with the tongue still like that and researched it. I am worried it is Thrush.
The white stuff is spread evenly on top of my tongue(not in mouth or other places) and is not thick.
I just brushed my teeth and used my brush to get rid of the white layer. I got rid of it but there are still traces of it in my tongue.
It is only on my tongue but am worried since all these symptoms are linking up with acute hiv.

it looks like this

We really could have done without the tongue photo. You've been told that neither the presence nor the absence of symptoms is the way to know about your HIV status reliably. That's what an HIV test is for.

Go see a doctor if you think you have thrush. You can't diagnose it yourself nor can we diagnose anything here either.

You're fast heading to a Time Out for 28 days here. We've evaluated your situation in relation to what you have told us. There's really nothing more to add to what you have been told. The likelihood is that you're going to test negative, but you do have to wait some time until you can get a conclusive result.

That's the reality of your situation. You can torture yourself about it and make yourself miserable or you can take some breaths and then focus on other productive aspects of your life and make the waiting easier. You can get a prelimenary result at 6 weeks. A negative at that point is a very strong likelihood that you will continue to test negative.

Stop indulging in all this drama. I can tell you for sure that we're not going to participate in it with you.

Ted,

Everyone gets white stuff on their tongue from time to time. It's normal. And I can tell you from experience that if you had thrush on your tongue and brushed it off, it would have hurt like HELL. You wouldn't have pulled that brush over your tongue more than once, I guarantee it.

What Ann said. Drink milk all day and you can scrape it off with a fingernail. Go to the doctor if you are worried, you aren't going to get a diganosis from an internet site, I wouldn't trust it even if you did.
NB. Any advice about HIV is given in addition to your own medical advice and not intended to replace it. You should never make clinical decisions based on what anyone says on the internet but rather check with your ID doctor first. Discussions from the internet are just that - Discussions. Thanks and sorry.
I hate sounding dramatic.
I know i have something so I am going to get that std check on Monday and can't wait.
anyways.
The only reason I got paranoid was the Thrush articles stating that only babies and people with immune deficiencies. But in my head i am thinking that people have this all the time in the morning. I am glad I was not the only one who thinks this.

Thanks again and sorry about the dramatic posts.

You are going to have to get a bit of a grip on reality here. Self-diagnosis is the path to insanity when it comes to HIV. You can look in the mirror and convince yourself of anything. If you can, stay off the internet forums and don't examine yourself. You are only going to find something that scares you -  not because you have HIV, but because you haven't put yourself under the microscope before....what was there before scares you now.

Hang in there until your 13 week results and see your doctor for anything that concerns you. Don't post pictures on here of your body - as you aren't going to get a diagnosis from even the best doctor....
