Bacterial Infection
« on: March 11, 2009, 03:10:29 PM »
I have recently have had cold that began Feb 16.  Prior to that in January I had a full CBC and my white blood count was a little low. I finally went to the doctor last week and due to my cold lasting 3 weeks.  The doctor told me that I had a baterial infection due to the colorful stuff that came out of my nose and throat.  My doctor gave me a 5 day course of Azithromycin and I am feeling better but still have a little congestion.  I called my doctor and he wants me to come in next week for a follow up appointment.  Has anyone experienced this and does anyone think that the reason my white blood count was low was due to this baterial infection laying dormant.  Just trying to get some feed back, my doctor told me not to worry about my white blood cell count but its hard not to be when my CD4's and Lymphocytes were low for me but CDd4/CD8 ratio was good.  I also went from being <48 (Undetectable) to being 62 which is detectable.  My doctor told me that he thinks its just a blip and not to worry.

Any feed back would be great.  Thanks
