Thank You
« on: February 18, 2009, 08:17:40 PM »
Hey Everyone,

Just wanted to drop everyone a note to say thank you.

I have been reading alot of these forums and have wanted to post something for long time but was determined that my first posting would be positive. (No pun intended)....

In short I was diagnosed last September and was completely devastated and was very close minded to what it meant to be positive. I use to think that i was a very well educated person but god was i in for a shock. I realise now that things are OK and this is not the end of the world as i thought six months ago. I have just changed my perspective on things and realise that i need to be more responsible in way i live my life.

I wont go in to details on what has happened over the last six months but have been put on Meds (Atripla) pretty much straight away as CD4 was 180. I am now feeling great and after one month of been on meds my CD4 is back to 350 and V/L is at 9000. Was around 100k.

Anyway my point is that i haven't had many people to turn to and whenever i had questions about certain things or when paranoia set in i logged on and usually got info/support from everyone who posts here). I remember my first night of taking meds and reading postings of previous peoples worries and i have to say it reassured me and in some cases made me laugh which to me has been the best medicine.

Someone told me recently that having all the information is the best meds you can have and i have to say from metal point of view i have to agree.

Okay beginning to waffle now.

So to everyone who has every posted on this site...THANK YOU. You have been my family without even realising it and i am very grateful and i hope i can repay to someone else someday.

A Very Grateful & Optimistic
D Ireland
