Do I Have Possible Infection
« on: January 11, 2012, 11:44:55 AM »
It was my first time at a strip bar, and I was a little tipsy, so my friends pushed me to go get a lap dance, so I did. During the lap dance, I played with her clitoris and very mild fingering (few seconds, one knuckle length). I also played with her breasts and did very mild sucking (few seconds, soft suck). Nothing was expelled from her breast, but I might have gotten some vaginal fluid on it via my fingers.

I'm not sure what she had as I didn't ask at the moment, and left. Five days after, I got a red spot on the edge of my right eye. It's day 2 of the red spot now, I think it may go away. I'm not sure if it is related, as I do touch my eyes here and there and could be something else.

Assuming that I might have very lightly sucked on some vaginal fluid from her breasts, and might have touched my eyes later on, will this make me vulnerable to HIV infection? I know that infected blood to the eye can.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

The only confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. As long as you always use condoms for those activities you will be well protected.

None of the activities you have mentioned are risky for HIV. You are worrying needlessly. If your red spot on your eye persists you should discuss it with your doctor. It has nothing to do with HIV.

I've looked up on many websites and they do say that it can be transmitted to the blood stream via the eyes as it is very permeable to infection. None of the said which fluid, other than one saying from the blood of the HIV+ individual.

HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.

I do understand that, as I have read many of your posts as well as Andy's, but can it not travel straight into the blood stream from the eyes and carry on living, while it was alive from the vaginal fluid? Like a quick process?

I've never known of anyone to have become infected in the farfetched manner about which you are concerned.

You were not at risk and we are not going to indulge you in this kind of speculation as if it deserves to be treated seriously. It doesn't. Stop this nonsense right now and get on with your life. Really.

Okay sounds good. I've seen how often you guys gotta deal with nonsense here, so I'll leave it at that.

Cases for HIV is going down, and since the whole world knows about it, do you think soon enough this virus will be gone forever? Say a few more generations? I am really hoping this virus gets controlled at such a level that only the CDC holds it.

For starters, to end the epidemic means that the use of condoms for vaginal and anal intercourse consistently will help to put an end to new infections.

Do that and you will be contributing to ending the epidemic.

And get on with your life.
