Moving
« on: January 09, 2009, 12:40:20 PM »
Hi, I'm new to this site.  Everybody say hi.  Thanks for the greeting.

So I've been living in Austin, Texas for the past six years and I'm pretty fed up with it.  I could probably even say miserable.  Without getting to much into it (but I will if anyone asks) I'm wanting to move to another state.  Not sure which one yet and I don't know which offer best health care if any but does anyone have any information on what I might be expecting?  I'm sure it depends on the state as all of them seem to have different laws concerning HIV.

Anything would help.

I am so sorry to hear that your time in Austin has soured you on this little city.   :( When asked by "outsiders" what life is like here, I usually compare it to my time in San Diego, another favorite spot I have lived. I hope you have not been mistreated by the folks here. :-\

Although I am a virtual hermit these days (home, work, doctors offices) this is the second time I have lived in Austin and I think it is why I decided to move back here. (the people and the "flavor" of the place as it were.)

If you just need to "talk" sometime, let me know, I usually have Yahoo Messenger running when online which is a lot. (into computer and mobile device support) I promise not to try to talk you out of leaving if that is truly your intent, but I have lived in various places, countries and cities and might be able to help you pinpoint somewhere that you might find more to your liking.

Sorry it took me long to respond.

This is about my third time living in Austin and I grew up in the San Antonio area.  But yeah, I'm not liking a lot of the people around here.  My last job was a hostile work environment and compounding that with the way my last roommates (who were my 'friends') and their friends were treating me has made me not want to be around anyone too much.

I am a hermit.  I've built my recent life around not having to deal with anyone unless I absolutely have to.  Some days I don't see or talk to anyone.  And I get lonely.  And I keep thinking how happier I was before I moved back here.  And I keep thinking that the other times living in Texas wasn't too good either.  Moving back was a mistake and I feel it's time to leave and start over.
