I had unprotected oral sex a month ago and  he didn't ejaculate into my mouth, I think there was not even pre come but i must say that i have a problem with 30's tooth at the back which is not bleeding though..In the meantime i was having sore throat too...after a week i had a very bad fever and some of the symptoms. Could you pls tell your opinion about how likely to get Hiv in this case?

Giving oral is risky strictly in theory. Although from time to time there are reports of an infection through giving oral, they never seem to hold up under scientific scrutiny. By contrast through longterm studies of sero-discordant couples who had lots of unprotected mutual oral and only protected intercourse, none of the sero-negative partners have become infected.

Common sense dictates that if you have a gaping fresh wound in your mouth, giving oral would not be a good idea. Even then your saliva has over a dozen enzymes and proteins which are very effective inhibitors against HIV transmission.

I don't see any need for testing in relation to this incident. If you are having symptoms that bother you, discuss them with your doctor. This is not an HIV situation.

Cheers.

What about if there is rubbing without penetration? I was having my period in the meantime what if some of his fluids may transfer into me? ( It was only 10-20 seconds by the way)

Really thanks for your answers...

Rubbing is not a risk of contracting HIV. Take the time and read the lessons on transmission. You can find the link in the "Welcome" thread.

Why me.

Why not you? If your fucking someone without  a condom, then it just might be you. And why not? You're not any different to me.

We're not talking about oral sex, we're talking about unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse. You do know what that means, yes? Fucking without a condom.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

Ann, i am sorry about " why me" ...you are right about all you wrote...english is not my first language so i probably made mistake about my expression. Pls dont take it as selfishness, because this was absolutely not what i wanted to mean. I was just angry to myself being not careful about it ...that was it.

cheers
