In this holiday season, we watch as the world goes mad, Dying to go shopping ,war, hostile takeovers, murdering our children, but still we are survivors, we must strive to survive and be thankful for small things. Remember, we have each other.
I have had a rough time this holiday season, LOST family members, butstill I am thankful through the sorrow, we must stop and smell the roses, though we might get stuck with thorns.

:) on another topic, Thankgiving was great, I had my mom and lots of family I have not seen in years! I  also had a man friend whom I have been talking to for over a year, come and visit me again. We spent the holidays together last Thanksgiving, He is a school teacher and lives in Maryland. Yes I am getting my fill of loving and sex. He is poz also, and we both grew up in Brooklyn, NY. He is here till Monday. Retired Navy man!

Is this the new thread? Well, I don't know what is going on with my wireless connection. It worked fine this morning and then all of a sudden..."can't find a connection" I did the whole shut down, unplug thing...no luck. I am online by using an unsecured network that belongs to someone else. I really have no idea what that means. I guess I need to call the guy who set mine up. I am so bad...I have no idea what the password is or anything about it. I may be M.I.A. for a while. It makes me nervous not being on my own network. I feel like someone can spy on me.

Talk to you all soon!

I think this is the new thread...Netta just didn't put numbers in front of it. Maybe Ann or Netta can fix it. LOL@Netta getting her nuts. You know my mind went straight to the gutter on that one. I know someone else who got theirs too.... ;)

I agree the world has gone to shit. It really amazes me because I can remember when life was so much simpler. It seems the more advanced the world becomes, the more violent. It really is depressing. I am feeling a little better, I think mainly from you ladies and the comments I have been getting in my blog. I did another entry before I came here, sharing my Thanksgiving experience. I am sure if you read it, you'll get some laughs. I had to laugh myself actually.

Other than that, just dog sitting Boo the chihauhau and watching him and my cat chase each other all over the house. And watching Mork& Mindy on Sci- Fi. Yesterday, it was The Godfather, though I don't know cause I have the dvds, Part 1 & 2. I think I will probably go play some Warcraft from here. I feel the need to kill something..... :D ;D It's just a joke, not to worry.... :D

Other ladies (including myself) are still posting in the other thread, so Netta, if this is the new thread, you probably should pm Ann or Jan on how to edit it to put, you know "ladie's thread part...."  This is a bit confusing.

Anyway, Netta, I'm so glad you had a good Thanksgiving.  You deserve it with all the losses you've had.  And I'm glad you have a male friend to spend the holidays with.  Have at it! ;)

Andrea, I hope you get your network back soon.  I don't know anything about computers myself (or very limited).

Queen, I saw The Godfather was on, I think AMC (?) the other night.  I always watch it, though I've seen it so many times.  I really like it.   I'm going to read your blog.  I'm glad you're feeling a bit better.  Hang in there, gf.

I'm off to check out Queen's blog and some other threads.  Back from getting my haircut and I like it.  She didn't do a whole lot to it, but it'll probably be easier to deal with (hopefully).  Take care ladies.

Netta- Glad you had a nice Thanksgiving. LOL!  I had the same thought as Queen, that nut line made laugh.

Queen- Nano, nano  ;D

BT- Glad you like your haircut.

Viv- I am the same way.  I feel so clueless when it comes to all this wireless stuff they have now-a-days.

Yep we have lots of left overs. I bought a stack of those aluminum disposable pans from Sam's warehouse so everyone could take left overs with them but I was still left with enough to feed us for a week I bet.

I did not do the Friday after Thanksgiving shopping thing. I never have. Never will.
I read about some man who was trampled to death at Walmart. The shoppers had busted open the front doors to the store too impatient to wait for the store to open and he was knocked over and killed by the stampede of people.
Its terrible. I cant think of any deal being so good that I would be in a huge crowd of people banging on a stores door to get in and purchase something. Every year I am shocked by how people act like animals in order to buy some doodad or the newest greatest whatever for Christmas.
The commercialism of Christmas really makes me feel unholiday like, Scroodgeish even maybe. It repulses me. I liked it better when things where more simple. When people made their ornaments with the kids. When kids where not so over indulged that they expect trendy or exorbant gifts.

I'm also tired of hearing "you should buy a new tv" mine works I dont need a new one. LOL
Ok I think I've bitched enough. The title to this thread is nice. Thank you Netta.

((((Netta)))) Im so happy for you!  :D ;D You really put a wide grin on my face this morning. Lay on the Bengay. Awsome.

Queen glad u feel better & will check ur blog soon. I cant install any survailance. There's no electricity there, we dont even have light. The building is from the 40s thats why its leaking so much. Not to mention lack of know-how or equipment. But if I could I'd install a some trap to throw ice cold water on them, or worse...

Wendy, that walmart story is insane but I didnt hear it b4 cos I was following the terrorism in Mumbay.
I have some much to say on that insanity and where its taking the world but Ill spare everyone a long rambling tirade.
My prev post was the longest yet - hadnt realized how much till posted. Sometimes I get so lonely out here GF-wise that I just feel like Im talking and I write the same way.

Im glad u ladies are not slaves to consumerism - even if i could afford to i hope i wouldnt be. its just another addiction.

Snow, thanks for the encouragement. Im not worried about the technical things like cleaning poop, its more about the isolation that I experience here. Though I do have friends, they are more the go for coffee or a drink type, and people are always moving on. There is no sense of community whatsoever, and my family is far. Im just scared. I know I cant afford daycare either, its not subsadized here and it would cost more than what I make. But my husband does have social rights here - I hope that maybe thru him we might get some help.

What i do have is some ties to poz women with kids. But they all live in other cities. I hope I can find some here. Maybe we can help each other. They would have to be foreigners. Dutch women have it all going for them, they dont need to help each other b/c they have the family, friends, community, child support from the state, maternity leave, and if they are unemployed they claim benefits. Usually they would own their place of live in subsadized housing. Most people here do - which makes the free rental market very expensive. One reason I stay in this apartment, is that it happens to be uncharacteristically cheap - to upgrade our living conditions even very slightly, we would have to pay more than twice what we pay now.
Even technical things - we dont have a car and people here usually take their babies everywhere on the bicycle. That scares me. It all scares me - but not having kids b/c I chickened out scares me more.

So I guess i will just let the dice roll and see, like with everything in life.
My hospital doesnt let you have a tri plets. They say its too risky. They would make me lose one if that happened. My husband hopes for twins.

Andrea - inspired by you I bought cranberries, boiled them with sugar, they are delicious. Dont worry I stole wireless connection many times, i dont think they can read your thing. if that was the case everytime we used public wireless we'd all read each other's. its good to have some "emergency wifi" if yours goes down  ;)

Betty, cant see your post at the mo, sending you a hug.

and to everyone I havent see awhile (nudges at Cindy). Hope its a good weekend.

modified to add: I dont mean to insult Dutch women if anyone happens to be passively reading, its actually one of the hardest countries in west europe to be a mom, thats why most of them have to work on part-time. I just describe the disparity I experience here.

Good Morning!
Drag- I think I must have missed something. Did you move or is this the same place you lived in before you were married? I'm glad the crannberries turned out good.

Netta- You are sooo funny! Is this your "boyfriend" now?

Betty- I'm glad you like your haircut. I need to get mine trimmed but don't know when I'll get around to do it

Wendy- I love leftovers! I ate leftovers for breakfast, lunch, and dinner the day after. I totally agree with you about the holidays. Many people have forgotten the true meaning.

Well, my Thanksgiving Break is almost over and I have done absolutely NOTHING! This tends to be a pattern with me...LOL! I guess I have to do some work today. I certaintly have been milking this break for all it's worth. I have also been eating so bad! I think I gained 2 pounds. I start parent conference week on Monday. I hate it. It goes on FOREVER! Sometimes I feel like a broken record after talking to 30 sets of parents.

That's all for now. Have a good day everyone....Netta-get out of bed  ;D LOL!

My Thanksgiving was great too--although probably not as good as Netta's!   I spent a little time with my Mom and started moving some boxes to my new place.

My SO gets his results back from his test on Tuesday.  We are both nervous, but at least we will be over this hurdle.

Hey ladies,

Netta, ben gay-hee!  That's really funny.  It made my night, thanks.  I'm glad you're having all that sex.

Wendy, those people at that Wal-Mart acted more than insane.   Hey, could you send some of those leftovers to me?  I ran out.

Drag, what country exactly do you live in?  It sounds almost like one couldn't make it there if they weren't born there.

Andrea, I've gained a few lbs over the past week.  My sister sent me home with some fudge Thanksgiving, so I blame it all on her.

Sweet, glad your boyfriend gets his results back soon.  Let us know, if you want to.

Well, like I was telling Andrea, I have gained a few lbs.  I can tell, my jeans are tight.  I have to watch it, 'cause I can't even afford to go to Goodwill to get more pants.  Well, anyway.

Today I went to church.  I haven't been there in a few months, and my faith needs working on.  I like my church, because they do a lot of social justice.  They don't just talk about things, they get involved.  When something happens to someone out in the community, because of natural disaster or social injustice, they do something.  And I like that.  They're not just lip service.

Other than that, I did laundry, some homework, and that's it.  I was going to do laundry tomorrow, but we're supposed to really get hit with some lake effect snow tonight and I can't run out of underwear. :o  That's about it for me.  You ladies have a good night.

Netta - u go girl, getting so much action :) Im glad u found someone
Drag - u mean they would terminate one of the babies if u got pregnant with three? talk about strict.  i bet snows glad she wasnt treated there.
Queen - im glad u're feeling better
Sweet - my fingers are crossed for a good result for your man

i got my results today. im at 459 CD4s but the percentage says 9%. So the thing is its a paediatric scale they use here so i dont know if its correct. Arent i supposed to be sick or somthing with a percentage as low as that? But im kind of happy with the absolute, i was at 453 in February. at least it hasnt dropped

Morning ladies,

Tendai, I don't understand the % if they're using a pediatric scale, you're probably going to have to ask your doctor.  Your CD4 is good though, that's good news.

Mahalia, glad to hear from you!  Sounds like the new job is just what you needed.  I'm glad it's working out.

Today I'm probably going to continue my car search.  I thought I might have had one that I was really happy about, but it didn't work out.  Which really sucks.  But, oh well, just have to keep looking.  The small cars go so fast, it's hard to catch one.

Other than that, nothing else planned.  I hope you ladies have a good day.

Not much going on here. Finally some good news from the gas company. I made their LIRA program so now all my budget plan is, is 90 bucks, I can deal with that. But since my LIHEAP went through, I don't have to pay on a bill til March....Woooo Hoooooo.

I am still surprised my computer is on, if they wait til Wednesday, they can get their money too. My son gets sentenced on Wednesday. He wanted me to write the judge but I think that would do more harm than good so I am not doing it. So, I'll just spend the day chilling and doing some gaming.

Also, thanks Betty for the card, I got it in the mail today. It really made my day. :-*

Hiya all,

I am in complete panic mode about my blood tests tomorrow, im just feeling sick to the pit of my tummy, what if they cant get the blood this time, after last weeks disaster. I am hoping the numbing cream works and it takes my mind off the pain so that in turn my veins dont colapse with the stress.

The thing is I dont know what to do to make myself calmer, I thought I was calm last week but obviously not after the first vein colapse and then the second and the third, I swear Im a human pin cushion after that, at least the bruises have almost gone from last week, so it wont look so bad if its bruises again....which its bound too.

Ill keep you posted, if anyone has any tips to help me calm down id welcome them.

Hey ladies,

Holy shit!  Wish, it's been a long time.  I'm glad you're doing alright and that you're still with the "youngin'."  As long as he makes you happy, that's what counts.

Queen, you are most welcome for the card.  I'm glad a couple things are working out for you.  Sometimes good comes with bad I suppose.

Daisy, I would try closing my eyes, imagining being in wherever you'd like to be, and do some deep breathing.  I guess I'm not understanding why you're having so much trouble.  Honey, get used to these blood draws.  You're going to have them the rest of your life.  Might as well go along for the ride. ;)

Still looking for a car.  I thought I might have had one, but it turned out to be a lemon.  I wish I had the money to buy a new car; but then, the cost of high insurance would be with it.  Ho hum.

Other than that, it was really snowing/sleeting earlier.  The roads got pretty bad, I don't know what they're like now.  I got really tired really fast of standing outside looking at cars.  Yuck.  Anyway, you ladies have a good night.

Hey Wishful- It is so nice to see you.  Glad to hear things have been going well and that you are still with Yungin.  I totally hear you on the kids, mine are driving me nuts too.  Hope to see you again soon.

Daisy-  Do you have someone that will go with you?  If not, I would let the people know that you have a problem with needles and they need to try to do it as quickly as possible and have the best person draw the blood.  Try to remember to breathe and then don't look at the needle.  Try to think about something you really enjoy and not think about getting your blood drawn.  Tomorrow is a new day, you can do it !!! ;D ;D  You will be suprised to see the power of positive thinking.

Ten- Your numbers sounds great.  I have no idea what the percentages mean.

Queen-  I am so glad to hear you got some good news, that will really help.  Plus don't forget there will be a little increase in January. ;D

BT- Are you still volunteering?  Any lucky finding a car?

Sweet- Good Luck tomorrow!  I hope you are enjoying your new place.

Drag- How far do you live from town? work? the stores?  They have these little trailers you can put on the back of bikes to carry kids in.

Win- I hope you and Billy are doing well!

I was bored out of my mind today! Copied Netta and got myself some nuts  :o Can't wait till the 3rd so I can have some money.

Are any of the "girlz" planning on going to AMG in Boston?  I have no idea if I will be staying over, depends if I have someone to watch the kids.  I know I definately won't stay the whole time, my oldest birthday is the 9th.  It will only take me an hour to get there so I might just drive back and forth?

Hey everyone! Wow, there sure was a lot of action today! Where do I start....

Tendai- Your numbers sound good. I too have no idea what the percentage means. My doctor has never even mentioned those. I just go by the viral load and cd4 count.

Mahalia- Hey stranger! What's going on?

Queen- Good to hear you're in a better place... :)

Daisy- Do you normally have this much difficulty when giving blood? I have never heard of all those issues. I didn't even know they had numbing cream...good to know!  :) Sometimes our minds get the better of us...you'll do ok. Sometimes it is just the anticipation.

Wishful- Another person back! Sounds like you've been busy! Good to hear from you!  :)

Betty- I don't know how you deal with living in the snow. When it gets below 70 I'm whipping out the scarves and sweaters. I would not make it. I think the idea about shopping for a car is fun but the actual looking is a pain in the butt. Not to mention the cost...Good luck!

Snow- Boy the "nuts" are going around. Must be the time of year LOL!

Wendy- Have you recuperated from Thanksgiving?

Well, I had the first parent conference day and I am wiped out! Sometimes it amazes me how some kids can just lie and expect not to get caught. There are a couple of students whose parents need translators which is usually easy to come by. One of my students speaks Spanish and I was pretty sure his mom did not know English. I can understand some but I do not know enough to explain standards, grades, and all the other stuff. Well for the last 2 weeks I've been asking the student if his mom needs a translater and he said he didn't know and then he said no. After a few days I forgot about it...until today. I get a call at lunch and the secretary tells me that a parent is here and needs a translator for the conference that afternoon. I figure out who it is and scramble to find one. I asked my student why he didn't tell me his mom needed a translator, of course he gives no answer. Come to find out his mom told him to ask me to get one and he told he did. I told his mom what really happened and he still tried to deny it. He was totally busted and so he started crying. There were some other problems that had to be discussed in regards to his behavior and work quality. The mom totally confirmed the behavior and said she has been having issues at home with him. Meanwhile my next conference is waiting outside and we go over about 15 into their time...and this was only the first day. Oh the joys of teaching! 6 down, 24 to go.... :P

Have a good night everyone!!!  :) :)

jamie - great to see you again! still with youngin thats fantastic, im glad things are going well with you

daisy - good luck with the blood draws. i dont look at the needle when im getting mine drawn. maybe get something to distract you while they do it. bring an ipod or something and listen to your favourite music and dont watch

mahalia - glad u're loving the new job, no regrets huh?

betty - so u're going to have a white christmas over there. a friend told me that snow isnt cold, is that true?  good luck finding a car.  if i ever drive i'd want one of those big trucks they seem suffer less damage in accidents.

http://www.zimdaily.com/news/army27.6637.html
i almost go caught up in this yesterday when i was at the ATM trying to get $500k which doenst even pay for a ride home.  i was out of there like Marion Jones on her drugs. We had first said to each other "why should we run we're not doing anything illegal" but one look at those soldiers running at us, we decided  not stand there and wait to see if they will listen to our explanantion.  some people engaged the soldiers and fights broke out and shops were loooted, cars stoned etc. and so begins the civil unrest in zimbabwe.

hi everyone,

thanks for the messages of help. xx

Yes im a complete needle phobic and unfortunatley do have a very low pain threshold, so as soon as the needle goes in it feels like burning and aparently my body goes into a shock mode, which then causes the vein to colapse, its horrible and usually they end up having to press hard down on my arm to prcatically force the blood out which is horrendously painful and causes black bruises which are very hard to explain away to people who see them and last week I said NO after the 3rd needle and no blood, I didnt want the bruises or the pain.

This phobia came from a few years back, I have had multiple pulmanary embolisms which is a blood clot in your lung and as such had to have blood tests continually several times a week for months, now this wasnt so bad as it was a pin prick in the thumb which didnt bother me so much, but after a while they needed more blood so I had to have a major blood draw taken and at first I was fine but then after a while for some reason which I dont know I started to become really panicked every time they took the blood (this was all pre HIV) and now I think its just manifesting again. I think ill try the Ipod idea, ill try anything.

I dont look at the needle and have tried the deep breaths but it doesnt work and I still feel imense pain when the needle goes in. I know I need to get it done and I know the blood tests are forever now but in honesty that makes me feel a million times worse.

Ill let you know how it goes
By the way the numbing cream is called Emla

Morning ladies,

Snow, did you have to break out the Ben-Gay cream also? ;)   Oh, I won't be going to Boston.  It's way too expensive for me.  If I lived close, I would.  That's why I voted for Chicago; it's only an hour and 1/2 away from me.  Le sigh.

Andrea, that story about that little boy is funny.  Isn't it something how kids think they will actually get away with their little schemes?

Tendai, good Lord.  It looks like complete bizerkment over there.  How do you keep your sanity?  Have you or anyone you have known been attacked by those soldiers?  So, you think this is like the start of a civil war?  How do you feel about that?  I would feel like hiding until it was over.  And oh, snow is extremely cold.  During the winter, some people who don't have a properly working frig, will put some of their stuff out in the snow to keep it cold.    I'll tell you, I've seen more trucks in my price range than small cars (which is what I want).  If it didn't cost so much for the upkeep of a truck, I'd get one.  That was one thing about the car I gave away; it was a big car and handled very well in this kind of weather (snow/ice).  And yeah, bigger vehicles are safer.  I just know that after January, gas is going to go back up.

Daisy, maybe you should take a benzodiazepene (tranquilizer) before you have to get your blood drawn.  I hope the Ipod helps.

Well, as you all probably know-it's official: we're in a recession and have been in one since last year.  Of course, we all already knew that.  My oldest sister is Republican and sent me a couple e-mails-one honoring Bush and one running down Nancy Pelosi.  So, I sent her my opinion, along with factual information back.  Hey, if she can send me those shit e-mails, I can send her things that are actually factual.  I don't see how anyone in their right minds can actually think well of Bush after everything that's happened.  He admitted that he wasn't prepared for war.  Duh.

Today I'm supposed to look at a couple cars.  I don't feel very promising about either one.  Other than that, I'm going to try to get my grandkid's X-mas presents.  Everyone else can eat cake.  Have a good day ladies.

Hey ladies! It's been a while since I have posted. I come here just about everyday but the nature of my job doesn't always allow me time to post. So I am here early today and am catching up. It's been a weird last couple of weeks. I was having some extreme lower back pain so I went to my regular Dr and they did a urinalysis and said there was a lot of blood in my urine, they asked if I was just on period or about to start and I said no, which I wasn't due until a week or two later, anyway, I ended up starting that night so that is why I had blood in my urine. He also listened to my chest and said it sounded like I had pneumonia so did a chest xray and sure enough, I did. Which was weird since I had no signs or symptoms of it. Well, the pain got worse and radiated around the front so I went to the ER and they said I was constipated which was a crock of poo. So, who knows what the heck was going on. I am thinking endometriosis but would have to have a laparotomy (sp?) to be diagnosed and sure, I have money for that!! My mom came in town from Florida and is staying with us which is nice. She helps out alot with the kids and has been buying the groceries, but boy is she messy. I had forgotten that about her. I am a clean freak and can't stand to have a dirty dish in the sink or on the counter and everyday I come home, it is like an avalanche. Oh well, she is my life saver though.

Viv-sounds like a pretty relaxing break. Hope the conferences don't wear on ya too bad. I was watching Good Morning America this morning and saw a segment on some schools that are paying the students money to get good grades. What a concept!!

Sweet-Good luck with SO's results. At least they got tested, mine is too scared.

Tendai-I don't know much about how the percentages work.

BT-Man, wish you wee closer to Florida. There is this elderly lady my mom knows that has had to go into an assisted living home and needs to sell her car. It is a Dodge shadow or something small with only 52,000 actual miles for $1000.00. My mom wants to buy it so bad but has no spare money. Yeah, Fox News.com's headline yesterday, said, "As if we didn't know....." that we are in a recession. I work in the stock market industry so it's been an interesting few months. I got my hair cut recently too, kind of looks like a modern mullet.

Netta-Where in Brooklyn did you live? I lived in a couple different areas.... Bayridge, Sunset Park & Park Slope. My girls father still lives there.

Winiroo-I know what you mean about Christmas. It has become so frustrating to see how mechanical it has become. Gifts are flying every which way and nobody actually spends time with anyone, it's all about tearing open presents.

Queen- your blog made me laugh. Sounds like a lot of thanksgiving's i know of.

Dragon, wow, I have never heard of someone not being allowed to have triplet's.

Snow, yeah Boston is a bit far for me. Although if it were, let's say 1990ish and I was still into New Kids on the Block (born and raised in Boston) I would be in like Flynn. Man, i remember those days. I saved all of my allowance for a few months thinking I could actually get a ticket to go to Boston and see those guys.

Well have a good day ladies!

Ok blood taken the numbing cream really worked I couldnt feel a thing, I also had my ipod on and kept my eyes shut so I didnt want to hear or speak to the doc, he didnt mind and said whatever got me through was fine by him.

So 2 weeks till results, I drove home and as soon as I got in the house burst into tears for the best part of 40 minutes, this whole thing is just scareing me so much, im petrified of it. Im scared of the blood taking, im scared of what the results might be, im scared of having to start medications, i just dont know what to do to help me get through this to be honest. My partner is being amazing as we are both HIV+ but he is dealing with it so much better than me. He just holds me and lets me cry, but I dont know what to do to make myself feel any better (mentally I mean.)

anyway sorry for unloading, I just dont have anyone else to talk to

LOL. Jenny.  My mother is the same way, drives me batty.  She is always leaving cabinet doors open.  You would think my trash can was in East BumDuck, she never throws anything away.  Sorry to hear about the pneumonia- Hope you are feeling better.  New Kids on the Block..LOL..haven't thought of them in a while. I always liked Bell, Biv, Devoe more  ;D

Viv- Sorry, I meant to ask you about the conferences.  I hope they are going well, that is kind of funny about the kids lying to the mother. My son did that to me last year but it had to with something that happened with one of the other kids.

Daisy- Glad things went well today and you got your blood drawn.

Wish- Are you still working at section 8 and going to school?  you go girl!!

Ten-  I don't know how the hell you do it, that shit is crazy.  I am so glad you got out of there OK.

BT- Hope the X-mas shopping went well.  Nope, no bengay for us  ;D  Reminds me of a funny story though.  My SO and I were riding around in the car last week and he put on some lip stuff out of a little tin so I asked if I could have some and put it on.  Now this was after he asked me, are you sure this stuff is for your lips, it kinda burns?  I was like yaah, thinking it's just like Blistex cuz that burns me. Meanwhile, both of our lips are on FIRE for like 5 minutes and then they got kinda of numb and tingly.  So I decided to read the teeny tiny printing on the back of the tin.  It was tiger balm and is used for muscle aches and sprains.  I thought we were going to crash, we were laughing so hard.

Keeping- How is school and work going for you?

I hope everyone is doing well.  I did a little X-mas shopping today and finally got my money order to send off to the sheriffs office.

http://www.aidsmeds.com/articles/TCellTest_4727.shtm

If you scroll down, this link explains %'s.  They're actually more accurate regarding the immune system than the CD4 count is.

That's all I wanted to do right now.  Get back with you all tomorrow.

Edited to add:  For some reason, the link isn't working.  I'm going to try again, but if it fails, the info is in the "lessons" part of the forum, which is a link under "Treatment."  Sorry.

another edit: let's try again.  if it doesn't work, follow above info.

http://www.aidsmeds.com/articles/TCellTest_4727.shtml

OK, the above link worked.  This should help with the questions about %'s.

Hey ladies.  My SO got his test back and unfortunately we didn't get good news.  :( I believe this day was worst than when I first tested positive myself.  I feel so guilty.  I was just starting to feel normal again, and now I'm worse off than ever.  :(

Well, The honeymoon is over, for a while. My navyman went back home yesterday. I am back down to earth, (My mom went home today ) and dealing with reality. We'll see what happens. We are friends, but he says we are more and could have a relationship if he moves here to Georgia. He has been looking at houses on the realestate channel. Problem if he moves now he'll give up his teachers pension. but still have his navy. We talk everyday for now. But I am not sure about a long distant relationship, not that I have anything else going on. Well I could.Lol
I have been busy with a xmas play this week and I caught pink eye!!!! I went to the doc and got drops for my eyes, but I hope it clears up before Thurday nite, (my play) I have the lead, a modern day Xmas story and I am the virgin Mary !!! HA HA Ha!!!!
Jenny N.Y.- I am originally from Brooklyn ,New York. Mom lives in Queens.
Tendai- Glad ur ok. Prayers are with u.
Sweet c -  sorry about the bad news.

hie ladies

netta - when is navyman going to come back then?  i find long distance relationships rather frustrating. i like for someone to be there as and when i need him :D

sweetc - im sorry about your boyfriends result. why u feeling guilty, u think u infected him?  it kind of sounds to me like he knew his status already and just didnt want to confirm. at least u're together and thats what really matters, supporting each other through this..

snow -   lol i once did that but it was mosquito repellent stuff. i just grabbed the container and smeared the stuff onto my lips and i didnt even check. it was only when i licked my lips that i realised what i'd done.  ;D

i think we're slowly getting into some kind of state of emergency or something.  soldiers still chasing people up and down in the street today as well.   im going straight home today.  i havent been beaten personally, theyre targeting mainly those guys who stand around with wads of cash but if u're unlucky u can get caught in the crossfire. shop windows are being stoned again. its just crazy

Morning ladies,

Jenny, sorry you have pneumonia.  I hope it clears out alright.

Wish, congrats on going back to school.  You'll love it.

Snow, that story about the Tiger balm is funny.  I'm sure I've done things like that.  I didn't get the X-mas shopping done yesterday, but I will soon.

Sweet, don't feel guilty a bit.  I doubt you infected your bf; in reality, it was probably the other way around.  Anyway, like Tendai said, you guys are together, there for each other and that's what counts.

Netta, sorry about your man leaving.  I don't like long-distance relationships, but I know they do work out sometimes.  Do you want him to move by you?

Tendai, girl, please watch yourself.  It sounds extremely dangerous there.

I'm up early 'cause my landlord is coming over in awhile to get the rent.  I have a couple cars to look at today, but I don't get my hopes up anymore.  It's just too frustrating.  My friend whose car I'm borrowing told me last night that she's in no big hurry to get her car back.  But, she will need it eventually, as her son is going to get a tutor driving instructor, who specializes in teaching people with severe anxiety disorder (he also has Tourette's, bipolar etc.).  So, within the next month he'll be getting his license, and the car is really his.

Anyway, other than that, nothing but school tonight.  You ladies have a good day.

I hope you feel better Jenny (((HUGS)))...

Hey Ms Netta!..comin off cloud nine huh??...Well the only good thing about a long distance relationship I thing is you always have that something to look forward to....I love that feeling...

I cant believe I will be 32 Sunday!!..Now I can actually transpose my numbers and it make sense..LOL well a little..lol

Tendai thanks for the myspace comment..u know im innocent...an ur skin looks so pretty...like real chocolate..lol...

Hey Ladies----

Well, my internet is safe, I paid the bill so I am here to stay. I paid all the bills and now I am broke, not even money left to do any shopping. Not that I celebrate it anyway. Next holiday for me is New Year's then my bday. Ugh, I'll be 40 and Wishful over there talking about 32 like she old, girl please!!!! Glad to see things are going good for you though.

I am noticing all these new people blogging now. I am wondering what the hell I am doing on the blogging team because most talk about HIV non-stop in their blogs. And I just talk about me and the things going on in my life, I rarely talk about being poz. Maybe I am just a ghetto soap opera...*lol* But it does amaze me how folks can actually relate to me, so I guess it's a good thing. <shrugs>

The car is suppose to be getting fixed tomorrow. Thank the Goddess, I had to catch a cab to go to the bank today. But was able to pay everything by debit card. I am going to have to start taking my hair down tomorrow. I am dreading that as well as dreading my son's sentencing which is also tomorrow.

That's about it for me....I'll check back later....

Evening ladies,

Yeah, I'm skipping school tonight.

Wish, I'm glad you're back.  Do you like school so far?

Queen, have you been blogging again?  Yours is about the only one I read, well, besides Ann's.

I'm just trying to keep my mind occupied (yeah, I know, school could do that for me, oh well).

Hello Everyone!

Netta- Sorry about your man leaving. I hope it all works out. I had pink eye once in high school. I had to get rid of all my makeup and remember how devastating it was that I couldn't wear any to school...LOL! Have fun in the play...Break a Leg!  :)

Tendai- I have a question which may seem dumb...what is causing all the unrest right now?

Betty- Oh, I hope you find a car. You do so much you really need some transportation. I have a lease on a Jetta which  is up in February and I just wanted to buy it but now my dad is trying to talk me into upgrading to a the newer model. I would just like to get rid of the payment although having a new one would be nice except for the fact that my dog has torn it up...I guess I better make a decision soon. I am going to send you happy thoughts that you find a car...

Wishful- Ok, please clarify "working girl"....

Well, I had a whole day of more conferences. We had a student free day that is used for conferences. I met with 18 sets of parents....a LOOOONNNNNGGGGG day. They all went pretty good so that was nice. It just gets tiring saying the same thing or what seems like the same thing, over and over again. Nothing really exciting to report. I've been having a difficult time sleeping so I am hoping tonight I can sleep all the way through.

Have a good night everyone.

viv - the main problem is that the reserve bank imposed limits to how much cash we can withdraw from our accounts a day.  until today it was $500,000 a day which is only half of whats needed to pay for the kombi ride home.  everything costs more than a million dollars.  so the reserve bank has these people it gives large sums of cash to go and buy foreign currency from us people in the streets.  so the soldiers couldnt get money at all i think so they went on the rampage attacking these dealers and anyone unfortunate enugh to get caught up. it all ended up with looting of shops destruction of property and someone was killed.  so today the cash withdrawal limit is now $100 million a week but at the same time all prices shot up proportionately including foreign exchange rates, so now tjheres unrest that even though we can get that money (if we're lucky) we cant buy anything with it coz everything also went up. so its like we're back to square one. i think we've finally reached our snapping point, what with schools closed, hospitals closed, the cholera outbreaks, daily price increases, something was bound to give.

queen - i hope they dont sentence your son too harshly..

wish - congrats on the development with youngin. moving in togethers a big step. and thanks for the compliment, right now my skins all blotchy from the heat and mosquito bites though. And happy birthday in advance, i might not log in again until monday, i have the day off tomorrow.

betty - i'll be careful, i heard the shits hit the fan again so im waiting for a friend to come pick me up from work and take me home. no way am i risking getting into town, dont feel like doing a 100metre dash again!

Morning ladies,

Queen, I'm thinking about you this morning.  I hope everything turns out alright with your son.

Wish, yeah, it's me.  I changed my screen name, because the other one is my real name.  I just didn't want some freak-o doing anything, know what I mean?  Hey, whatever happened with the kids' father?  The cop?  Anything?  By the way, early happy birthday!  You've got some good years left.

Andrea, my best gay friend has a Jetta.  I think it's about a year old.  It's nice, but anytime he needs anything for it, he has to take it to a Volkswagon dealer and that can get expensive.  Nice car though.  Are you done now with the conferences?

Tendai, I'll be thinking about you a lot this weekend and hoping things settle down there sooner rather than later.  Please take care of yourself.

Nothing much planned today.  I didn't go look at any cars yesterday.  I'm pretty discouraged about that whole thing.  It's so hard to find a good one, at least with the little money I have.  The few I've driven, well, they needed major repairs.

My therapist comes over today.  Other than that, school tonight.  I have to go; this class always has something due (which I've done) and to miss is like educational suicide.  Anyway, you ladies have a good day.

Thanks about my son... I am wondering what happened, I haven't heard anything yet. I'll wait awhile then prolly call his girlfriend later this evening. I finally got all my braids down. My hair has gotten longer, past my shoulders now but it is so thin/fine. I guess that comes from my Puerto Rican side. I figure I would let it breathe some and prolly not braid it til next month.

I figure today I would do a little laundry and just chill out.

Hi everyone,

I enjoy reading the posts; it's nice to listen to the ins and outs of people's daily activities.  I'll just jump in and add mine.  :)  Today I almost "caught a case;" my 6 year old got in trouble at school for the 3rd time in 4 days.  This is a child that is typically extremely sweet and well-behaved in every setting.  Now, suddenly it's like she lost her damn mind and doesn't know how to act.  To make matters worse, my daughters and I have temporarily relocated to my parents' home due to Hurricane Ike damage, and my mother interferes with my disciplining her.  If I put her in time out, she pulls her out early.  If I want to spank her, she stops me.  If I restrict her priveleges, she semi-restores them.  I feel like she is babying my daughter because she is positive, but tha's not going to help her in the grand scheme of things.  I love my mother and I'm glad she's protective of my girls, but goodness...sigh.

Queen, I hope everything turns out alright with your son.  Here's a little {{HUG}}

Sheri, I lived with my parents for awhile when my daughter was growing up and I can tell you the way your mum is is not going to change.  I'm not trying to be discouraging, just sayin'.

Just stopped by to say hey.  I'm off to bed now.

Wishful- Well that's a good thing! I obviously read it wrong...LOL! I figured I'd just ask  :D I've got it now.

Betty- Ok, I totally laughed when you were talking about your "gay best friend" who has the Jetta. I have heard that the only people who drive Jettas are girls and if I guy is driving one, he must be gay. It just made me laugh.

Sheri- Hey there. That's gotta be difficult. Is there any way you can talk to your mom about it? Oh and welcome if I didn't already say before.

Tendai- I think I am going to do some research about your country. It's difficult to comprehend that stuff like that can be happening in this day and age. Stay safe!

Well, I have only 1 more conference tomorrow morning and I am so ready to be done! Some of them are a total waste of time! I had one today and I swear the mother did not understand one word I said. I am convinced that something is not computing correctly with her daughter and really wanted to discuss it, but after today I see the apple does not fall far from the tree. Our school is K-5 and she has been here since Kindergarten. She is an English Language Learner, but has been here for 6 years. She is confused about EVERYTHING and never knows what I am talking about. When I ask her a question she looks around for help. She rarely talks and never pays attention. I have talked to her and asked if she understands what I am saying when I talk to her and she says, "Yes" then I'll confirm and say, "So you do understand me?" and she says, "No." Drives me CRAZY! Anyways, her 4th grade teacher said she is shy and gets confused...uhhh, yeah...you think? I really think there is a processing problem but because English is her second language the confusion is attributed to that. After talking to her mother I just don't know what to do. I also have to refer to students to some sort of counseling which means I'll have to jump through some hoops. It is really unfortunate that when children need help there are so many steps that have to be taken care of. All the red tape. I'm just happy I'll be done tomorrow and then 2 more weeks and then it's Christmas Break... ;D ;D

Have a good night everyone!

Morning ladies,

Wish, I'm glad you're enjoying school.  Where I go, the classes are eight weeks long also.  It does make the time go by fast.  Provided I pass everything, I'll be done by May.  Yay!  I hope they get that court order taken care of.  You need the money, I'm sure, with how expensive it is to raise kids today.

Andrea, hee.  And my friend bought it (actually took over payments) from a gay man.  So, what are you going to do about that kid who doesn't understand what you're saying?  I hope you can find help.

Mahalia, I don't know what to tell you about your boyfriend.  I hope he opens up to you soon.  How long has it been since he found out he's poz?

I bought a car, but I think I might have gotten duped.  It's really too long to explain, I'm just pissed off and worried.  Of course, none of my suspicions about the car have been confirmed (I haven't had it to a mechanic), but I've just got that feeling..........

Today, my cat goes to the vet to take care of her ears and get her claws clipped.  She's never been to the vet, in the whole 2 & 1/2 years I've owned her.  This is because she's strictly an indoor cat.  When I adopted her, she had had all her shots, and was neutered.  She's the most skiddish cat I've ever owned, she jumps at everything.  And today she's going into a cat carrier, and going to the vet, holy shit.  I remember when I adopted her, it took four people to hold her so one person could clip her claws.  I hope my friend, who's supposed to come over to help me, and I, can get her into the cat carrier and that she doesn't claw the hell out of us.  I'm sure once it's over and I get her home, she'll be under the bed for a couple days.  Anyway, this is going to be an adventure.  Wish us well, please.

Other than that, nothing else going on.  You ladies have a good day.

Hey Ladies---

Well, I found out through watching the news that my son got 3-6 years. I am concerned for him because now he will be taken out of county and put in some state facility. And all I keep picturing is someone trying to rape him. He's little about 5'6 and a pretty boy. Maybe I'm making too much out of it, all I have to go by is Oz.

I moved my computer into my bedroom last night. It's where I spend the majority of my time plus it's the warmest room in the house. I try to keep my heat at 72 to avoid a high gas bill. Betty, I hope you didn't buy a lemon. I hates shopping for cars cause like anything else to do with cars, mechanics and car dealerships try to get over on women. I am also laughing to myself about your cat. I don't have those problems with Lucifer. I clip his nails and give him a bath from time to time. He never goes out past the front porch though I did let him in the back yard during the summer. I guess it's because I started clipping his claws and giving baths since he was a kitten. The most he does is growl which I think is funny but I just talk him through it.

Hey ladies,

Back from the vet.  My cat survived, and so did my friend and I (hee).  She really did better than I expected.  The vet said she has some yeast in her ears and gave me some ointment to put in (that should be fun).  They clipped her claws, gave her her shots, and got the mats out of her fur.  Now, the only reason I was able to afford all that is because of a little refund I got from my school.  That's the only reason I can afford to do anything extra, besides pay bills.  I know no one asked how I could afford it, just wanted to explain so you all don't think I'm a scammer about anything I've posted.  Oh, and, the cat isn't under the bed.  She's right next to me, and every once in awhile, she looks up at me and "meows" so I will stop and pet her and reassure her she's alright.

Yeah Queen, I hope I didn't buy a lemon also.  I went to the gas station today and filled it up and put a thing of Heet in it (what we Northerners use when it gets below freezing).  It's only 13F degrees out right now and I didn't want a frozen gasline.  And also Queen, I know what Oz shows.  And I know what some of the t.v. shows show.  I've never been to prison (only because of luck), so I can't personally say.  But, I have several friends who have been there, and I've never heard any of them talk about someone trying to rape them or anything like that.  All they talk about is doing their time, working out 'cause there's nothing else to do, people they'd meet, stuff like that.  I am, of course, hoping your son stays safe.  Please let us know how he's doing. :-*  (kiss for ya)

I'm going to check out a few more threads, and probably make something to eat.  You ladies have a good evening.

Sheri-
I totally hear you on the mother interfering thing.  When I lived with my mom with my son, it would drive her crazy if he cried when I put him to bed.  I wanted to let him cry so he would out grow it but she always made me go in the room with him, so I would end of falling asleep at 8 every night and not get anything done.  It used to drive me nuts!  Hopefully things will get better for you.

Hi Mahalia-  My SO is like that too.  It takes an act of congress to get him to go to the doc.  I hope you are liking your new job.

BT- LOL.  I was hoping you hit the lottery or something !  ;D Glad things went well with your cat, that could have been really painful.  What kind of car did you end up finding?  Are just having a feeling that is a lemon or is it running funny?  You would be suprised how much better a car runs with an oil and spark  plug change.  Can't you take it back in the 30 days or something?

Queen- Does your son have to serve the whole 3 to 5?  He might get some time off for good behavior and time served, might end up only being a year and half, hopefully.  They have been kicking people out early around here because they are too full.  He should do fine if he keeps to himself and doesn't run his mouth, from what I hear anyway.  I can't even imagine giving a cat a bath, I thought they all hated water?

Viv- Glad your conferences are over!  That must really suck when you don't get the support from home or higher up that you need.

I have been trying to get my Christmas shopping done and it has been exhausting me.  I went to a sale at Kohl's this morning and had to come home and take a nap before I went to pick up the kids.  It sucks getting old  :-\!
The funniest thing happened when I was at Walmart last night.  I was coming out of the sections where they have the pads and tampons and I see a guy in the soap aisle bend over and ask one of the employees  quietly "where is the KY jelly ?"  She says "KY jelly"  kind of loud with a strange look on her face and starts walking in the wrong direction, I had just walked by it.  So he is following her down the aisle and I was 5 or 10 ft behind them and she keeps repeating "KY jelly, KY jelly, KY jelly" and then stops and asks "  What do you use it for?"  I thought the poor guy was going to bug out, pass out, freak out,the look on his face was priceless!  So as I walk by them before he explains, I say" it 's on the back wall."  I thought he was going to kiss me, he thanks me and we both start laughing and then he thanks me again over and over as I am walking away.  I almost told him to try the warming kind but didn't want to start that conversation  :o LOL.

Hope everyone has a good night!!

 Hey Ladies,

I hope everyone is doing well. I'm in one of those pissy funky moods today. I don't know why. I guess maybe it's coming up to that time I found out last year I was +.  Or it may be do to the lack of sleep I have been getting. (IDK)

BT- I hope your car turns out to be a good runner for you. My car has been acting up lately. I have had it 6 years. Luckly I have my truck to fall back on.

Snow- How are you doing. How are the kids. Especially my friend Nessa?

Queen- Sorry about your son. I pray that he be alright. I forgot to tell you that the girl did give me the card. She all of a sudden found it after I went to her house. She was there. I thought I was the only one that kept my heat on 70-72. So far my gas bill is only 33.00

I am basically done with Christmas shopping. I love this time of year. Last year I didn't enjoy it much because all I could think  about was dying. But by grace I am still here.

Well i guess I will try to turn in and catch up on some sleep. Nite Nite

Morning ladies,

Snow, I can't take the car back.  As soon as I get it licensed I'm going to get an oil change.  That story about the KY was hilarious.  I can't believe the clerk asked the guy what he was going to use it for.  I need to get my grandkids' Christmas presents, but I'm hesitating to do that until after I get the car all legal.  Today I'm going to go get the proof of insurance, and my best friend is supposed to bring me my license plate off my old car that I gave to another friend.  That way I won't have to pay for a new plate, just to transfer one.  The BMV is closed on Mondays here now, so I'll probably go Tuesday.  Anyway, I want to see how much it's going to cost before I do any Christmas shopping.

Keeping, when I don't get adequate sleep for a few days, I get in a real funk.  Our bodies need rest, no matter what the t.v. says.  I didn't know it has been a year since you tested +.  You'll be around for a long time, chickie, don't worry about that.  How's school?

It's absolutely freezing out right now (21F).  Of course, I know the temp is going to get much colder, it's that time of year.   I've got two space heaters going, one in the living room and one here by me in the kitchen.  My dad used to keep the heat at 68F.  My mum and I would turn it up sometimes when he wasn't home, then turn it back down right before he got home.

Other than going to get proof of insurance on my car, I'm probably going to do homework.  I want to write two papers today-a reflection paper (easy), and a research paper (not so easy).  I have two research papers to do, one for each class.  The one I'm doing today is the shorter, easier one, for my forensic psych class.  I'm doing it on alcoholism and domestic abuse.  I found a couple pretty good sources online.  The research paper I'm doing for my human sexuality class is going to be on the possible benefits of legalized prostitution.  Hopefully I can find some good resources about that.  The professor said he wants a couple references to come from books, not just the computer.  So maybe I'll head to the library later to see if I can find anything.  I know I can find sources online.

Anyway, I'm going to eat breakfast and go to the insurance place.  You ladies have a good day.

That is a funny retail tale. You know, that would make an excellent commercial, but likely only a European market would welcome such a thing because they can actually talk, laugh about and admit they have sex.

LOL!  So true, I have 4 kids and my mother still doesn' talk to me about sex.   ::)
I liked Ann's blog about sex she posted a while back.

Hi Keeping- My litte Queen B is doing well !  ;)  One of her new names is Stank Butt, if she is not in a good mood everyone in the house knows it.  I hope you can catch up on your sleep.  I am so jealous you got your Christmas shopping done but happy for you at the same time.  ;D  Your gas bill is only $33?  Does it not get cold down there? My electric bill around this time of year is $400/month.  I try to make sure everyone wears lots of layers and has lots of blankets at night.  How is your hubby and the kiddos doing?  Did I tell you my sons middle name(his fathers last name) is the same as yours now?  I have a funny story to tell you about that.  I will e-mail you later :)  I hope you feel better!

BT- Hopefully things will work out with your car.  Would you mind sharing the domestic abuse sources you found on-line?

We are laying low today, my oldest isn't feeling well and still hasn't got out of bed yet, which never happens.  My Dad's b-day is tomorrow and I have to make bread pudding for him.

Snow--- I am not sure if my son has to do the whole sentence. I have heard from a few people that since he has been in there for almost 8 months that it will be some time served. And since it is the first time he has gotten in serious trouble, it may work in his favor. His mouth may be a factor, he did go to the hole once while in the county. But state prison is a whole 'nother thing.

Betty--- Good luck with the car. I am still waiting on mine to get fixed. My godson's father said he would take care of it. The other day he tells me, he's still trying to get ahold of the guy that is going to fix it. It has now been a month. At this rate, it looks like I may end up getting it fixed. And I had told my bff that her son would have this problem once he got the car, not having the money to get it fixed. They should just give me the car. It irritates me because she doesn't want anything to do with talking about the car getting fixed. She just keeps telling me to talk to her bf. I am going to wait to see if he does anything by Thursday, which is when he gets paid. If not, then I will take of it by the end of the month and they are not going to be happy because I am going to end up keeping the car.

Keeping---Interesting that she found the card all of a sudden. Yeah, the gas company told me once that keeping the heat on 70-72 will help with the gas bill. I use to turn it up when I was in my dining room. But since I have moved my computer to my bedroom which is the warmest room in the house, I don't mess with the thermostat.

Nothing planned for me today. Just dog sitting.....

Evening all,

Snow, I hope your oldest feels better.  BTW, I absolutely love bread pudding.  I had some a couple weeks ago, but it wasn't as good as homemade.

Queen, you should keep the car since you're getting it repaired.  There's no reason you shouldn't.  Do you know when your bff wants it back?  I would tell her to get screwed.  Of course, I know you have to be cordial so she'll sign the car over to you (am I correct on that).

The weather here is absolutely dreadful.  It was snowing all frickin' day, and we got probably 4-5 inches.  It was bad this morning when I went to the insurance place.  I had to go pretty far out, and the roads were crappy.  There was a horrible accident on the road I was driving back on, so I avoided it.  I went to Target for a second to get a couple things.  On the way back home, there was a Mustang with a pretty young driver (and young passengers) going super-slow.  Of course, the license plate said "Notre Dame" on it and it was a beautiful car.  But, Mustangs aren't made for driving in such weather and it was aggravating.  Anyway, all safe and sound.

I did some homework and tomorrow I have to do some more.  Nothing other than that.  You ladies have a good evening.

Hey everyone! I am sending all of you in the cold warm thoughts!! I would be bankrupt if I had to pay a heating bill because there is no way I would leave the thermostat low. I can't stand being cold. If I lived where it snowed I would have to hibernate. The bears have it right!

I didn't do much. I went to my doctor today. He has now started offering Saturday appointments which will work out better for me. I got in trouble for not having my blood work done when it was supposed to. I called the Rite Aid for a refill on my prescription and the doctor denied it until I came in.  >:( I was irritate but it was my fault. So I went in that day to get my blood drawn, this was last week, and then the people at the lab said that I can no longer get the count unless I come before 12. I have been going to this place for almost 2 years and I have always got it done after work, so around 4 or so and NOW they say no? Whatever. I asked  if this was a new policy and they couldn't even give me an answer. Well, since I was already irritated I also asked why they give me an HIV test every time I have blood drawn and that it was already established that I was positive. They said they do whatever the doctor says. So...(I know, I am going on and on but it does have a point  ;)) When I went in today I told the dr. about all the problems I was having and he said the lab techs don't know what they are doing and they should not be giving me an HIV test each time. Whenever I go they have me sign special paperwork giving them permission to do it. So now what I am going to do is get an itemized list of what they have been billing my insurance. I think they have been doing tests that are unnecessary. How irritating!

Well ladies, my time is going off...have to go get the blankets out of the dryer. Have a good night!

Hey ladies,

Andrea, that would really piss me off (regarding the lab).  I wouldn't have let them give me an HIV test over and over.  I would have told them to call the doctor.  This one lab I went to thought the viral load was an HIV test, until I told them what it was.  Incompetents.

We got 5 inches of snow.  I went out and shoveled, and of course the same thing happened again; my landlord came over with his snowblower.  I think that's nice, but next time I'm calling before I shovel.  Anyway.....

I got my homework done and I'm probably going to take a nap soon.  I got up at 7:00 this morning, no idea why.  My cat actually started meowing when she saw me stir in the bed, so I suppose I can blame her.

My brother's supposed to come over tonight, if the roads aren't too bad.  Other than that, nothing else going on.  Where has Drag, Cin and Wendy been?  Hmmmmm..... You ladies have a good day.

I want to thank you ladies so much for your support.  I know we'll never know for sure who infected who.  Truth is, we both engaged in activities that could have gotten us infected.  I feel in my heart that I had it first, but that may not be the case.  It's probably better that we don't know.  We have never even talked about it, like at all.  I'm glad that we have each other.

One thing I'm thankful for is that we found out early.   It's insane that doctors don't recommend HIV tests across the board.  I feel much more in control of this disease since I found out about it relatively early.

After an emotional two days or so, we have gotten pretty much back to normal.  I am almost done with my move, and we put up Christmas decorations today.  Yay!

Queen:  So sorry about your son...

Vivy, that would really annoy me!  It's amazing how little common sense some folx have.

Betty, glad your cat is doing well!!  I love animals.

And I want to say hello to all the ladies I didn't name specifically.  One day I'm going to keep up with responding more regularly.  I love reading about what's going on with everyone.

I'm here. I've been reading just not responding. Tis the season for feeling melancholy.

Sweet C- I agree with you in regards to the testing. I don't understand why they have to get a patient's permission to test. They should be able to do it no matter what since it is something that you may not know you have.

Wendy- Nice to hear from you. My therapist says that holidays can be really bad. I hope you feel better.

I really wanted to get a Christmas tree today but I can't get to my decorations. My mom put them in the little storage thing where I park my car and I have no idea where the key is. She doesn't know either. I don't want to go out and buy more when I have perfectly good decorations already. I guess I may have to call a locksmith to cut the lock off. Another annoying thing for me to deal with.  :)

I didn't do much this weekend. Just the same old thing, laundry, grade papers, etc. I have been getting into the habit of eating very badly on the weekends. I figure if I am good during the week I can be bad on the weekend...How do you like that logic LOL!

Stay warm everyone and have a good evening!

Not much happening with me. I was in bed most of the day simply because I didn't have anything to do. There was nothing to do around the house. I did shovel because we got hit with about 5-6 inches too but that took me maybe 20 minutes tops. Later in the evening a friend stopped over briefly, that was the highlight of my day.

Betty--- Here's the story with the car. Originally it was my bff's father's car. When he died he wanted her son to have it. At first it was given to me but I couldn't afford it and my Caprice so I gave it back. My bff then had it moved to her mother's house where people then started taking parts off of it. It then ended up back with me because I had a driveway and no one could mess with it. Because I knew that it was my godson's car, as a present to him for graduation, I decided to get it up and running. Getting it fixed was my present to him but he can't get the car unless he graduates. I'd say I have put damn near 400 bucks in it to keep it running. Now that my godson messed it up, his father is suppose to be getting it fixed. His father even told me this out his own mouth. It was suppose to have gotten towed to a garage last Thursday but it didn't. The excuse was that he didn't get a chance to talk to the guy at the garage and he wanted to know about storage fees. He wasn't even aware of those fees until I mentioned it to him. But I also know that this is an added financial strain to him because he is literally busting his ass trying to maintain 2 different households----my bff's and his father since his wife died.

My bff is kind of frustrating me because she is trying to stay out of the situation and when I bring it up, she listens but really has nothing to say. I had warned her about this months ago. Considering that my godson does not have a job, he has no way of maintaining the car. And she is not going to do it unless it can get done for next to nothing. And should it break down once he gets it, the car is just going to sot or she is going to try to get it back in my driveway to avoid getting tickets. I have even come straight out and told her how much this is hindering me as far as getting to appointments or the grocery store. But all she says is that her bf will fix it when he can. It has been sitting almost a month now.

People that know the situation says I should just keep the car. And legally I could, everything is in my name already. I am at the point now that if I end up getting it fixed this time, I am not going to want to give it back. And when I tell her this, it will more than likely cause drama and may end our friendship.

Wini--- I know the feeling only too well....

I been wondering where Cindy has been too. I guess Ice has been keeping her busy. I hope she is doing better with her neck.

Hi everyone-

Sweet C- Glad things are back to normal.  It is always fun to get the Christmas decorations, it's the taking them down that I can't stand.

Hi Win- Nice to see you!

Queen- Sounds like you have already gone above and beyond with the car situation by just keeping it in your driveway, never mind trying to get it fixed.  I am suprised your godson isn't doing everything he can to get the car on the road, seems like forever ago but, when I was younger I did everything I could to make sure I had a car on the road the day I was old enough.  We only got a dusting of snow here yesterday, it is cold as hell though.  I am not looking forward to this weather at all.  I love your mothers saying at the bottom of your posts- that is funny!

BT- Have you guys finished all the Wires yet? I wish that show was still on. The bread pudding turned out alright.  I got the recipe on-line and it didn't tell me what size pan to use so I just went by the one in the picture.  It ended up being really flat  and very un-pudding like :)

Viv- I can totally understand that logic sometimes I feel like I don't have much to enjoy these days so I mights well enjoy my food.  Don't you know anyone that can pick the lock for you?  Shoot, you could probably google it and figure it out yourself :)

Drag- How is going?  Hope you haven't been having anymore "gifts" left outside your door.

My oldest is home from school today.  We have an appt for 1:30, his throat looks awful.  I really hope he doesn't have strep again.  I was up really late last night watching TLC.  First I watched a new show called Wealth Hunters, where these people go look for descendants of people who have passed and left money that is unclaimed, somehow I know they will never be hunting me down.  Next, how the lottery changed my life 3, I still hope that some day I could be so lucky.  Then I watched this docu-movie called Dear Zachary and I cried my eyes out.  I don't know why but it still amazes me how much people suck.  I won't ruin it for you guys incase you happen to watch it but it makes me realize how much the justice system sucks....sometimes.
I hope you all have a good day!

Morning ladies,

Sweet C, no, it doesn't matter who was infected first etc.  The important thing is that you're there for each other now.  Consider yourself blessed.

Wendy, I am so sorry about Justin.  That's got to be the greatest emotional pain in the world, to lose a child.  I can't even imagine.  {{HUG}}

Andrea, I would probably bust the lock if I were you instead of paying a locksmith.  One time, years ago, I accidentally locked my keys in my car.  It was when I was still with my 2nd husband.  We waited for a locksmith, figured it would cost too much, so my ex got a rock and we smashed one of the windows to get into the car.  I know, permanently damaged window; but, nothing some plastic wouldn't take care of.   Anyway, about eating on the weekends, I have the same philosophy. However mine is more if I'm good during the day, I can have some pie or something before I go to bed.  I totally understand the whole reward system with eating.

Queen, if your godson isn't trying to get the car fixed, and you've put all that work into it, then I would keep it.  At least until you can get something else and your godson becomes more responsible.  I hope it gets fixed soon.  I guess you're going to have to decide how important your friendship is.  Has she (your bff) been an exceptionally good friend?  Has she ever screwed you?  That would be a hard decision.  Good luck.

Snow, no, we haven't finished all the seasons of The Wire.  The one we just started on is, I believe, season 3.  (However, I could be wrong).  Anyway, it's the one where I started watching it when it was on HBO.  It was an excellent show, as good or maybe better than The Sopranos (though I've always been a Mafia fan).   I've watched ads for the show Dear Zachary and kind of know what it's about.  I've had too many things move me to tears lately; I don't know if I could take another one.

It's getting late and I haven't even eaten breakfast or taken a shower yet.  Oh well, I have all day.  I did a research paper yesterday, so I have one more to go, which is due next Thursday.  Tomorrow I'm going to the BMV to try to get this car "legal."  I'm worried, 'cause on the back of the title, there are two different names under the "seller's" part.  The car is titled to the husband.  Well, it's the wife's signature on the back, but the husband's printed name.  I don't know if the license branch will take that.  Maybe they will, being that they both have the same last name.  My insurance place did; but of course, they're not the BMV either.  Sometimes the license branch can be so particular and picky.  So, of course I'm terribly worried about that.

I'm going to try to get my grandkid's X-mas presents today.  They're not getting as much as they usually do and I'm going to look for bargains.  Other than that, I have nothing else planned.  So, I guess it's not tragic that I'm not dressed yet.  Other than if someone comes to the door.    You ladies have a good day.

Queen- What a pain that car is. It seems like you are paying an awful lot for something you hardly even get to use...

Snow- How old is your eldest? I like that TLC channel. I watch "Little People, Big World" I am a sucker for reality shows.  ;D

Betty- Is it called BMV? Out here it's called DMV...how funny! The worst people in the world seem to work there. It's like they have no happiness and move so slow! Good luck with all that. I LOVE giving gifts and it's really hard on me when I can't give the way I want. I just love it when I can find the perfect item for someone. I can't spend the way I used to and that makes me sad... :'(

Nothing else going on...Is it Friday yet? I was so tired this morning when I got to work and it was so cold today! That's about all to report. Oh, my crazy neighbor is gone...YAY! I think I mentioned the letter that was left asking information about that unit? Well anyways...his cars have been gone and there is a note in the window from the realtor requestion people call him if they want to get in. I think he left some stuff in there though. I so want to get the information. I just know that there is no more banging!  :) :)

Have a good night!

Morning ladies,

Andrea, yeah, it's the BMV (Bureau of Motor Vehicles).  I haven't been there since they updated their whole system.  I hear people move through pretty fast now.  It's been about 6 or 7 months I think since they've changed things.  I haven't been there because I renewed my registration (for my old car) online.   And you know what?  Not many people can spend for Christmas like they used to.  This has been a hard year for everyone (except the filthy rich).    I'm glad your pesky neighbor is gone.  Do you know what the last straw was?

Tendai, congratulations!  I'm glad someone's getting laid (I think maybe you did?).

Today I'm going to the BMV.  I'm so nervous about it.  I have a feeling there's a lien against the car.  On the front of the title, it has two liens on it, one from a creditor, one from the state of Indiana.  The state has signed off with their "stamp." and where the creditor is listed, is has one signature on it, but no date.  I asked my bff last night if I should put in a date, and she said "no," 'cause if it's in the BMV's system, and the date on the title is different than the one they have, they would know I was screwing around with the title.  So, I'm leaving it; we'll see what happens.

A friend of mine has two bald tires on her car.  She lives in an apartment complex where she has to go up a hill to get to her apartment, and with the snow and ice, she can't do that with her tires.  I told her I would lend her the $ to get retreads.  We'll see how that goes.  She's on disability also, not for HIV (she's negative), but I think for being bipolar.  She gets a tad more than I do in her check, but she's usually always broke.  I think the difference is that before she went on disability, she never had to struggle to make ends meet.  So for people like that I know it's harder to get used to.  When my daughter (who is now 24) was little, I was on welfare, so I have a little more experience.

Other than that, nothing else planned.  I need to clean pretty soon (hopefully tomorrow) and make the fudge I'm going to attempt to make before I head out on the 21st.  I hope all you ladies have a good day.

have some bit of work to do, might check in later.

I personally wouldn't have anything to do with a man who did not take responsibility with his status and take care of him and his life in a good way.

I shopped around on Ebay earlier. Looking for dolls. I placed bids on 3 of them. Dont know if I will win the bid but I'm not terribly concerned about it. If I get them I get them, if not I'll find something else.
I'm not counting on it but they would be nice to give as gifts to Haley and my son's girl friend has a daughter too.
One of the dolls is a boy. If I get it I'll give it to my nephew. It will be interesting to see if the parents react negatively to a boy getting a doll as a gift. LOL
My boys played with dolls. I dont think it is a big deal. It teaches them to nurture.
I dont get why some people feel a boy is demasculinised by playing with dolls.  They play with action figures. Same difference as far as I am concerned. With a boy everything is a potential play gun, even a doll.
My brother always gave my kids loud noisy toys cause he knows they would love them and I would hate them. Its not a mean thing really just a ha ha thing.

BT- How did things go with the car today?  I think it all depends on the clerk you get, it seems some notice more than others.  I hope it went through OK.  My oldest son was in my room with me the other day watching TV and I was on the computer, out of the blue he asked me if I had "daddy beadys" I said, "HUH?"  SO he tried to pronounce it again, I wasn't really paying attention to the TV, they had just had a commercial on about diabetes and he wanted to know if I had it.

Win- I have been doing shopping on ebay too, trying to find the bargains.  I usually watch the item until the last minute and place a bid then.  I don't really understand what the difference is between a doll and a stuffed animal.

Mahalia- Just as long as he doesn't make you sick somehow.

Viv- Good riddance to your crazy neighbor! :)  My oldest is 10 and the 3some is 5.

I went to the ladies house I help out every now and then and "stuffed" her Christmas trees.  Compared to her 2 trees my tree looks like a Charlie Brown tree, hers are packed with ornaments and all kinds of stuff.  It is getting really cold here, I am not looking forward to the snow.

Hope everyone has a good night!

I have no clue how you northern ladies deal with the cold. I know you will laugh but I'm freezing my ass off and it is 40 degrees outside. I swear I'd keel over and die if I had to live where it snowed. LOL
The three dolls I bidded on are plush like stuffed animals.

I have a couple of pictures for you all. Me and Haley at Thanksgiving and my Christmas tree.

I meant to add-
I was reading the job postings and they are looking for people for a photo shoot in NYC.
African American women and African American and Caucasian men, pay looks pretty good, 2 different shoots, one for people on Atripla and the other doesn't matter.

Too bad they don't want any white girls, that would be a good coming out for me!! ;D

Maybe I should have said dumb blondes, I had to use spell check to write Caucasian and miss-spelled Amercian twice. HELLO!

Hell the people that will see the ads likely are positive anyway. I'm not on Atripla but it sounds like it would be something to consider if I where a black lady.  ;)

Just want to say hello. I have been in bed for 2 days resting. My body has taken a wippin, all the hustle and bustle of Thanksgiving, moving, the play and all the company I had. things are quiet on the home front and I am back on my meds, which i have missed for about 2 weeks. I know, my bad. everytime i get real busy, I  forget to take them. I am ok, getting back to norm. Was feeling a little depressed over the holidays thinking of my nephew and his young cuz that got killed. But I have much to be thankful for. my colesterol is high and the doc put me on meds agian. my arthritis is acting up, but the weather is mostly calm. we never have snow in Georgia. Well rarely.Hope everyone is fine.
Queen, i am praying for your son, that God protect him. don't give up on him. my other nephew is serving time also. If he can get into a work program that would help.
Winn- ur grand baby is so pretty and u look good.
Betty- I hope ur car works out.
I just found out I am overdrawn on my checking account, which is strange to me ,cause I only use my debit card, and don't know why it let me purchase things if I didn't have enough in my account???? go figure! anyway the bank will have to wait thill I get the money to cover it.

Thank you Netta.

I purchased a few movies for the children in the family. There are only three to shop for thankfully. I got the girls the same movie. Its a double feature with The secret of Nimh and Thumbellina. And they both got a small ABC Dr Seuss book. For my nephew I got a movie with six small cartoons. One is Ricki Tikki Tavi, I cant recall the names of the others and a small coloring book.
All the little kids in our mixed family are under the age of 5. So shopping for them is easy.

Netta-   We need to get you one of those watches that has an alarm on it, to remind you to take your meds.  Don't jinx yourself, the way the weather is acting, you might get snow this year  :-\

Snow-I'm in Southern California so the weather is pretty nice all the time. They say you can tell the difference between a tourist and a native because during the "winter" the tourist is in shorts and T-shirts and the native is bundled like it's below zero...LOL!

Well all is quite around here. I have the rest of this week and next week before winter break. I have a very difficult time not being at work. When I don't have a lot to do I tend to think about things I've been pushing down. This has been a topic my therapist and I have been talking about for quite some time. I'm kind of dreading it...

Betty-So...how did it go with the car?

Wendy- Books are always a good gift. Every year I give my students books.

Netta- Um...yeah....I bet you're sore! LOL!

Well that's all for now. Gotta finish my coffee and get going.

Morning ladies,

Wow, there was a lot of action yesterday.

Mahalia, that's good your boyfriend takes care of himself.  I personally haven't read Audacity of Hope, but I did read another one of Obama's books, and for the life of me, I can't think of the title.  It was (something) of Change, or somesuch.  Oh, I think Mum is taking a break for awhile from the forums.

Wendy, I love the picture of you and Haley.  I agree with Andrea, books are always good presents.   It's always good to get a kid's mind working.

Snow, I'd like to be a model for one of those ads, but I'm older (43), blonde (dyed, though), and I have a lipo gut (protruding) and legs (very thin).  If they wanted to do a reality ad, maybe I'd get the job. ;)

Netta, they do have pillboxes with alarms, maybe you should invest in one.  I just wouldn't want you to get sick.  About the debit card, sometimes it takes 48-72 hours for a purchase to clear, so the money is still in the account.  But, when that purchase clears, the account will be short.  I don't know if that makes sense or not.

Andrea, you must be kidding-you're wearing a scarf when it's 72 out?!  Wow.  It's 23 here right now.  You'd survive if you lived up here; it's just a matter of adjustment.  I will say, I'm looking forward to getting out of the cold in a week and 1/2 when I go to Phoenix.

Tendai, I don't know how much 50 mill is in U.S. dollars, but I think it's just ridiculous that they raise prices every day and you all don't know how much your money will be worth.  It's criminal.

One of the car's lien releases was signed, but it wasn't dated.  So, one of the BMV's I went to yesterday told me I'd have to get it dated.  So, I walked out of that BMV, got into my car, dated it and went to the other BMV.  Everything turned out alright.  I knew a lady working at the 2nd BMV I went to, and we were having a good conversation while the lady attending to my title put everything through (that may have helped, that I knew someone there).  But then.......

I got home, got into my "new" car, and started driving it.  It's a 5-speed.  When I got a few blocks away, when I stepped on the brake, it revved up, like I was shifting it (can you picture that).  And it kept doing it every time I stepped on the brake.  So, I drove home and called my mechanic.  It's at their garage right now and is going to cost at least $500 to fix.  It might be more if they find anything else wrong with it.  There's some hose that's rotted out, and a bad exhaust leak, so they can't put it on the diagnostic machine right now, because of fumes getting into the garage, even with a hose on the exhaust.  That's why they might find out more things wrong with it when they're done with what they're going to do now (if the diagnostic machine finds more wrong).  I also told the guy to have them change the oil (they're actually cheaper than Jiffy Lube).  I can't really be angry at the guy who sold it to me (who is a car dealer, go figure).  He's just doing what he knows how to do.  I'm just pissed that I let myself get taken.  Oh well, live and learn.

I've been getting real tired really easy lately.  I noticed on my past three blooddraws that my red blood cells have been low.  Not extremely low, but low.  So, I was looking on this site's med lessons, and one of the meds I'm on (Trizivir) can fuck with bone marrow, making red blood cell's low.  There is really no other reason I should be getting so tired so easily.  I see my doctor next week, and I will bring this up.

Only a week and a half and I leave for Phoenix to see my sister.  I'll actually be able to get out of the cold for a couple weeks.  I'm going to fly from my town (South Bend, IN) to Detroit, then onto Phoenix.  I hope it's not snowing bad here or in Detroit, or I'll be delayed and that would suck.  Other than that, not anything else exciting going on.  You ladies have a good day.

Billy will turn the thermostat to 69 and be comfortable most often. Mean while I'm wearing layers in the house cause I'm cold LOL

If it is below 72 degrees I am uncomfortable. The thermostat is at 72 right now and my hands are still so cold they are purple.  :D

Win- I live in Mississippi and I know how it is for it to be 40 outside and be freezing. I have been shopping on ebay a lot myself. I got most of my things for my wedding there. I bidded on a college book yesterday and won.

Andrea= PPL would think i was crazy walking around in 70 degree weather with a scarf on unless I had the flu.

Ok, ok...I'm catching a lot of flack for the scarf LOL! This morning it was about 74 but when I leave in the morning it's in the 50's...cold! Also, the air conditioner in the classroom is kind of crazy and it gets really cold. The kids ALWAYS bring jackets to put on when the air kicks in. We adapt! Since I'm in the room most of the day I dress for that.

Keeping- I hope you feel better

Betty- I'm glad everything went well at the BMV. It does totally suck about the repair though. Do you have a lemon law or anything like that in Indiana?

Wendy- You know what I'm talking about!  ;)

Mahalia- So your boyfriend is positive? I probably missed something. How does he explain taking care of himself in one way but not the other?

Tendai- It's always something, isn't it. Take care of yourself.

Wish- I forgot to say earlier how funny that was about what your son said. I can relate, the kids say the craziest things.

It's almost Friday! :) Have a good night.

Morning ladies,

Wendy, you definitely wouldn't like to vacation up here in the North during October to the end of March.  I remember being in Phoenix years ago, and how it would be hot during the day and pretty chilly at night.  I don't know how Texas is.

Keeping, I only have 5 classes also!  You and I are on the same wavelength when it comes to school.  Yeah, I'm really tired of homework.  Only one week to go, then we get a break.  I have a lot of homework to do between now and then though.  I hope you get to feeling better.

Andrea, I don't know if Indiana has a lemon law or not.  But, it doesn't matter, I've had them put the repairs on the car.   Yesterday, after the repairs, the mechanic said it's a good car and should last me for a long time (we'll see about that).  He said what happened was normal wear for the car.   Where I go to college, it's always colder in the rooms than in the other parts, like the student lounge etc.  I don't know why that is.  Last night I tried messing with the thermostat in the room to turn the heat up, but they must have it locked on 70 or something.

My teacher last night was telling us about being married to a South Bend cop before, how lazy they (the South Bend cops) are etc.  She talked about going back to school and getting her graduate degree while trying to raise her four kids.  I said "so, you were a single parent when you got your master's?"  She said "yep."  I told her how admirable I thought that was.  It couldn't have been easy.

Today I have tons of homework to do.  Yesterday I thought I only had one more research paper to do, but last night my teacher gave us more homework.  So, I'm going to try to get that done today, so tomorrow, when I take my car to get the oil changed, I can head to the library after to try to find a couple book sources for my research paper for my Human Sexuality class.  I'm going to do it on the advantages of legalized prostitution.  My professor for that class said he doesn't want us getting all our sources from off the internet.  Too bad, that's so much easier.

Other than that, my therapist comes and I have class tonight.  You ladies have a good day.

It is 37 degrees right now.

Texas is usually anywhere between 30 and 70 degrees during the winter. It does get colder and warmer those are just average temperatures. It can be 30 in the morning and 70 in the afternoon but it could just stay cold.
In the spring we get rains usually and the temperatures are 70 to 85 typically.
In early summer it is between 80 and 95 usually. In late summer it is most often 95 to 110 outside.
Late summers most places have water restrictions and drought conditions. Meaning you can only water your lawn between certain hours on certain days of the week and some places restrict car washing.

We don't really get snow. It may snow up to 3 inches but it is usually melted by the next day. We have more trouble with ice on the road than snow and people down here usually cant drive well in icy conditions.
We had maybe 5 - 10 minutes of sleet the other night but there was no accumulation of it on the road and no sign of it by morning.

Morning ladies,

Wendy, I lived in Alabama for awhile and the weather there sounds like the weather you have.  They would usually get ice instead of snow, then the whole town would shut down (as they would if there was any snow).  The temp here right now is 23F and it's supposed to drop throughout the day.

Netta, if he didn't ask you, he shouldn't have taken the liquor.  That was an awful lot to drink in just a short time frame.  I wouldn't want an alcoholic either.  Been with a few, don't want to do it again.

Tendai, I finish school, provided I pass everything, in May.  I read a little in the New York Times today about the cholera outbreak there.  It was actually a quote from a boy who had lost 5 siblings to it.

Mahalia, I hope you have a good party.  Sounds nice to break up the monotony of the office.

Later this morning I take my car in for an oil change.  They have to replace a bulb somewhere in the front and I'm going to have them check the washers (on the wipers).  We really need the washers during the winter.  It might be frozen, and I don't think there's anything they can do to unthaw them, so I might have to wait until they thaw out themselves when it gets warmer.  After they change the oil, I will get the grand total of the bill and I'll have the work order, so I'll know exactly what was wrong.

Yesterday I got my homework done for my forensic psych class (which was two papers and a final).  All I have left is a research paper for my human sexuality class and I'm dreading it.  I don't really know why either; it's not like I've never done a research paper.  We have to present them to the class, maybe that's what I'm dreading.  For my forensic psych class we all had to take a chapter out of the book and teach it to the class.  I picked (of course) the chapter on drugs (I think I already talked about this) and this coming Wednesday it is my turn.  I'm a bit nervous.  I've talked in front of classes before, but for some reason I'm nervous about it this grading period.  I guess I'll just have to let it go.

There are some people who haven't been on lately-Queen, Cin, Wish is only on once in awhile, and where has Drag been?  Queen and Drag usually check in every day.  Ladies, if you're reading, let us know how you all are.  Just my worry-wart mind.  Anyway, I hope you ladies have a good day.

Netta- Here is the job posting from the home page of Aidsmeds.  Looks like it would be a nice chunk of change.  I am glad you woke that guy up at 4 am to give him a piece of your mind, why people have to be so shady is beyond me.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HIV+ Men and Women Needed for Photo Shoot

I am casting 2 ad campaigns for HIV medications. One is a testimonial for a drug called Atripla and the people I find MUST be currently taking Atripla. The other campaign doesn't have any requirements as to which medication/s the talent is taking.

WHO
I'm looking for attractive men and women between the ages of 25-45 who are responsible and are comfortable with having their picture taken. EVERYONE MUST BE HIV+ to be in these ads. (We will need verification before we proceed with the shoot). No experience necessary, and in fact it is preferable that the person has NOT modeled for an HIV medication already.

Men- African America, Caucasian and Hispanic
Women- African American

WHAT
One ad is a testimonial for Atripla, so the people in it need to be currently taking Atripla. The other ad doesn't have requirements about which (if any) HIV medication you are taking.

PAYMENT
$6,000-$8,500 to participate in the shoot and have the photos run for 2 years. This is non-exclusive use
$7,500-$10,000 if the use is exclusive (meaning you can't model for anything else in the HIV health industry)
You won't be paid for coming to the casting, but it is the best way to be considered for the job.

WHERE
I will hold my castings in NYC. Ideally anyone interested should be able to come to me. If someone is interested and cannot attend, please send several very recent photos of so we get an idea of what they look like. Please say where you live.

Anyone who is interested should email martha@marthalazar.com a recent photo, their contact info and their current HIV medication/s. People should contact me before 12/15 for the non-Atripla ad, and before 1/10 for the Atripla ad so I can schedule them for my castings.

Keeping- How are you feeling?

BT- Hope the car bill did end up being too high.

It has been raining and miserable for days here.  My mother, who lives an hour away, didn't have any work cuz her whole town didn't have any electricity.  They had freezing rain out there, we just had lots of rain.  I went and did the read aloud program at my kids school today and then ran some errands for one of the ladies I help out.  I am so glad it is friday, I am so tired of getting up early or maybe I am just tired in general.  Is Christmas over yet?  ;D

Netta - I don't think you are being harsh at all. It would bother me also. I don't drink much at all. If I had a liquor cabinet it would last me years if I drank it all by my self.  Sounds like he drank quite a bit.

Tendai - The ranch from Dallas is not terribly far from where I live. Maybe a half hour drive north of my home or less.  Downtown Dallas has a bunch of sky scraper buildings and most of the surrounding area is residential neighborhoods. Just south of downtown is an industrial warehouse area.
Dallas and Fort Worth are the main large citys near me. Its called the DFW metroplex. Lots of highways and several towns within the two main citys.
If you go outside the city limits a little you will find smaller towns and lots of open area. Farms, pastures, stuff like that.

Southfork Ranch is the name of the place where they filmed Dallas. I looked it up online because I couldn't remember where it was located exactly. It is actually in the town just north of me called Plano.
So I am closer than I thought. I never watched the show but I do remember it being something people where really into in the 80's.

Morning ladies,

Snow, that's nice that you participate in the programs at your kid's school.  That makes for good memories.

Wendy, my brother (I believe it was him) used to be a huge fan of Dallas.  I think he idolized JR.  I never watched it.  I was into other things in the 80's.

Netta, I don't think you are too old for the ad.  Maybe try again?

My car ended up costing me over $400.  And not everything is A-1 on it.  But, hopefully it will last until I can afford to do the other repairs (which won't be for several months).  The washers don't work, so in the front seat I have a spray bottle with windshield washer in it that I use to spray off the windshield.  I think the person who owned the car before me had the cheap washer stuff in it that freezes, so it's probably all frozen.  In that case, I'll have to wait for a few warm days for it to thaw out.  The horn doesn't work either; could be it's disconnected.  I'll check that out later.

It's 22F here, which is already warmer than it was all day yesterday.  We're supposed to get two days of almost 50F degree weather, than the bottom is going to fall out (again).

Today I'm going to attempt to make it to the mall to use a couple coupons I have for free stuff.  I also want to take my friend's car back to her if she's feeling alright.  Other than that, I'll probably work on my last research paper I have to do.  I need to make fudge, but I'll probably do that tomorrow.  I'm going to send some to my daughter.  She doesn't make stuff like that, and she wants me to send her some (I did last year also).  If it wasn't for her wanting some, I probably wouldn't make any.   Nothing other than that.  You ladies have a good day.

Well, I went out to get some stuff for class this week and now I'm home just waiting for the rain to come. It's supposed to rain this weekend and this week but it hasn't yet. I have to get some laundry done today...if I get up off the couch  :)

That's all....maybe more later

We really lucked out here. Above us and out to the east had bad ice storms and lost electricity.  A lot of people are not due to get it back on until Monday.  Some of Mass had a state of emergency.

Gotta go my Mom is here.

Morning ladies,

Not much action yesterday.

Andrea, what are you and your students going to make?

Snow, we got lucky here also.  One county north of me got tons of snow, and we got only a light dusting.

Yesterday I did go to the mall with my best friend, and then I knew why I detest going there.  But, we didn't hang around once we got what we went there for.  It was so crowded.  I waited in one line for like 20 minutes (and there were four cashiers).   And my legs felt like they were going to give out ('cause of my knees I guess).  Anyway.....

We went out to eat after that, and then I came home and took a nap.  When I got up, I did my research paper for my human sexuality class.  I don't know if I mentioned it, but I did the paper on the advantages of legalized prostitution.  I don't really know if it's any good or not.  But, it's done and that completed the last of the homework for the semester (which is only one more week).

I can't believe that next week around this time, I'll be getting ready to fly to Arizona.  I'm pretty nervous about it.  I haven't flown since way before 9/11, and am not familiar with the new security rules, other than what people have told me (nothing over 4 oz liquid in carry-on, get to the airport an hour and 1/2 early etc.).  I have simply got to remember to get some Dramamine.  I keep forgetting when I go out.

Today I'm going to my grandkids' this afternoon to celebrate Christmas with them.  I hope they like their presents.  My grandson likes Thomas the Train so I got him some track thingy, and my granddaughter I got this password journal (it's voice recognition) and a keyboard (no, not a big one).  And I got them each some clothes.    Then, my brother is supposed to come over later so we can continue our Wire watching.  Nothing other than that.  You ladies have a good day.

I went to a white elephant christmas party last night with my HIV hetero group. I had fun and stayed up till like 4 am. I havent stayed up that late in forever. anywho I had fun.

Wendy- You look so pretty!  :) They took my tweezers one time too and I was so mad! They were Tweezerman, which are expensive.

Betty- I worked at the mall when I was in college and I ALWAYS shopped there. Now I never go. Can't stand it. Well, every year at our Christimas party I have the kids make gingerbread houses out of graham crackers. It makes a TOTAL mess, but they really love it. I go to a party supply store that has cardboard disks for cakes and that is what they put their house on. Usually I use regular cake frosting but this year I am going to make Royal Icing which is supposed to harden. I am also going to have them make similar houses but with little paper bags. It's a new craft I've never done but it looks so cute.

Didn't do much today. Graded some papers but still haven't done my lesson plans. My crazy neighbor finally moved today. He was evicted. I feel bad, but I'm glad he is gone. Still no rain...now they say tomorrow.

Have a good night everyone!

Thank you! I dont look nice always, I hardly ever put makeup on anymore and I hate my pictures when I'm not wearing any. My skin isn't even toned and I always have dark circles under my eyes.  ;D
I wasn't too pleased when they took my tweezers either. It ment I got to spend a week growing a unibrow. LOL

I had a good day today. I was going to go to a hobby store and look at packaging for cookies and candy that I'll be making for Christmas presents but decided to stay home and clean house. Its not the Taj Mahal and its certainly not spotless but having a neat home makes me feel good.
Billy and I went to dinner with our bosses to the Black eyed pea. They are a married couple around 70 years old.
I've been looking at recipes for cookies trying to decide on three types of cookies to make this year. I always make fudge for Christmas. I was thinking about trying to make hard candy. I might just do it.
I like arts and crafts. It makes you feel like a kid again.

Morning ladies,

Wendy, you do look nice in that picture.  I'm unsure of what a white elephant party is (I'm totally out of the social network I guess).   I'm making three different kinds of fudge (at least that's what I'm planning now).  My daughter, who lives in Washington, was begging me to make some to send to her.  She doesn't do any of that kind of stuff, and I know she misses it.  I sent her some last year, so I'll do it again this year.  I have to make sure I get it made before I go, 'cause I bought all the ingredients a couple weeks ago.  They still sit on my kitchen floor.

Andrea, those gingerbread houses sound really cute.  What a good teacher you are.

I think I'm going to do alright with things I'm taking on the plane as far as passing through security.  I have to take a couple lotions out of my purse, as I believe they're more than 4 oz.  I wonder though if they will take the fingernail clippers I have in there (purse)?  I don't understand why they took tweezers.  I mean, I can imagine things you could do to other people with them, but surely they didn't think you would actually do them.  I'm carrying all my meds on with me, which reminds me.  I have to get a note from my doctor so I can carry on my needles that I use for insulin.    This whole thing still doesn't seem real to me.  Probably because I still have classes this week.

Last night when I went to bed, it was 47F out.  So, I opened my window, not knowing what the weather was going to be like, but not thinking it would slide down so far like it did.  When I got up this morning, it was only 14F and I thought I was going to turn into a frozen human.  Now it's 12F out.  Unbelievable.  I can't believe the temp dropped 30 degrees in such a short time.  I've got to go out in it to go to the laundermat also.  Ugh.

Other than cleaning today and doing laundry, nothing else going on.  I hope you ladies have a good day and that some of the old regulars check in (I hope Drag's doing alright).

A white elephant is a gift swapping game.

Gifts are wrapped, but are not labeled to reflect a specific sender or recipient. Gifts are typically inexpensive, humorous items or used items from home; the term white elephant refers to a gift whose cost exceeds its usefulness.

All participants draw a number (from a hat, perhaps) to determine their order.

The participant with #1 unwraps any gift from the pile and then shows it to everyone. Each successive participant, in the order determined from the drawing, can either 1) "steal" an already opened gift (if there's one they really like) or 2) be adventurous and go for a wrapped gift from the pile. If the participant chooses to steal, the person whose gift is stolen now repeats their turn and either 1) steals another person's gift (they cannot immediately steal back the gift that was just stolen from them) or 2) unwraps a new gift.

This cycle of stealing can sometimes continue for a long time, until a new gift is chosen, at which point the turn is passed to the participant with the next number from the drawing. (An alternative to the drawing is to sit in a circle and take turns in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction.)

Since items can be stolen, the item in your possession is not yours until the game is over. However, this is often amended with a rule declaring a gift "dead" or "safe" after it has been stolen a certain number of times (usually two or three). This helps the process go more smoothly (avoiding, for example, the hypothetical scenario of the same gift being stolen by every successive participant) and limits the disadvantage of being among the first to choose gifts.

The person who picked first also has the option of picking last or keeping the gift already in hand. After they exchange or decide to keep their gift, the turn ends and there is no additional swapping.

Hey everyone!  :) I finally got my wireless network fixed...YAY! The guy came yesterday and fixed it in like 10 minutes. I wish I knew enough about computers to do it myself.

Betty- I don't think I'm that good. Sometimes I just get good ideas. The bad thing is that most of the extra stuff cost money. It's funny how the kids think that the school pays for everything. They are surprised to find out that I pay for the extra stuff. Truth be told...I don't mind doing it! When do you leave for your trip?

Netta- Right now we are having rain.... :'(

Nothing else to report. Talk to you all later!

Morning ladies,

Wendy, I've never been to one of those parties.  Sounds like fun.

Netta, it's only 12F degrees here right now.  I suppose all you warm-weather ladies would melt here.

Andrea, I never thought about teachers paying for stuff when I was in school.  It is nice that you do crafts with the kids.  I hear so much about the "bad" teachers, it's nice to know about the good ones, like you.  I leave for Arizona Sunday, 12/21.

Yesterday I actually cleaned, did laundry, and made fudge.  I made three different kinds and was on my feet for the majority of the time between 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.   I had to lay down for an hour afterward, because of my knees.  They're just not working like they used to (of course, all the shit that's wrong with them, I'm lucky I can still walk).  But, yesterday was a major accomplishment day.

Today all I have to do is mail some of the fudge to my daughter, go to my doctor's and do a little shopping.  I still can't believe I'm going to be leaving Sunday.  I suppose I'll get more butterflies once the days to leave get shorter.    You ladies have a good day.

I play that game too. It can be a a lot of fun. Here is one we played at my office party the other day.

Everyone stands in a circle with the gift they brought. Someone (who didn't bring a gift) stands in the center and reads the story below and everytime they say the words right or left, you pass your gift in that direction. So at the end, you are stuck with whatever gift that is in your hand.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Christmas was almost here, and Mother RIGHT was finishing the Christmas baking.

Father RIGHT, Sue RIGHT, and Billy RIGHT returned from their last-minute Christmas errands.

"There's not much LEFT to be done," said Father RIGHT as he came into the kitchen.

"Did you leave the basket of food at church?" asked Mother RIGHT.

"I LEFT it RIGHT where you told me to," said Father RIGHT.

"I'm glad my shopping is done," said Billy RIGHT. "I don't have any money LEFT."

The hall telephone rang, and Susan RIGHT LEFT to answer it.

She rushed back and told the family "Aunt Tillie RIGHT LEFT a package for us RIGHT on Grandma RIGHT's porch.

I'll go over there RIGHT now and get it." she said as she LEFT in a rush.

Father RIGHT LEFT the kitchen and brought in the Christmas tree.

By the time Susan RIGHT returned, Mother RIGHT, Father RIGHT, and Billy RIGHT had begun trimming the tree.

The entire RIGHT family sang carols as they finished the decorating.

Then they LEFT all the presents arranged under the tree and went to bed, hoping they had selected the RIGHT gifts for their family.

Now I hope you have the RIGHT present for yourself, because that's all that's LEFT of our story.....

Except to wish you a Merry Christmas....Isn't that RIGHT?

Hey Ladies---

Sorry, I haven't been chatty lately but I have been reading and keeping track of everyone. Someone needs to start a new thread. I would but I just can't think of anything creative at the moment. My sister has been getting on my last nerve so much so that when my lease ends, I plan on moving. It was a mistake to even move here. But since I like my landlord and he has other property, I am going to see if I can move into something else. If he doesn't then I am still out of here. She is just being too damn petty and it is getting on my last nerve. And when I do move, I think that will be the end of me trying to make nice with her or my other sister.

I talked with Sexy today. He is opening up to me which is good but I seem to always get with dudes who seem to be hung up on their freaking ex. And want to talk to me about it like I am freaking Dr. Phil or something. Geez!!!! I appreciate him wanting to vent and wanting my opinion on things. But with what he told me, I don't feel like I have a chance in hell because he is still hung up on her. The sad part is that he is hung up on her kids because he can't have any and though he is not with her anymore, still wants to be in the kids lives....What a man and how can you hate on that, ya know. So, I don't know whether to try to stick it out with him and see where it goes or just say forget it.

I mean, it's taken a minute for him to open up to me and I like being friends with him. But because of the way he is, I am wanting more but doesn't see the point of saying anything because he has put his guard up towards women because of her. I kind of feel like I am damned if I do and damned if I don't. I just feel like banging my head up against a wall or something.... ???

PS....I started a new thread.....Hopefully this one will be locked...
