Please advise ! I am very worried
« on: March 15, 2009, 10:55:02 AM »
Hi. I have been living my life with discomfort since last three months. This happened, as i visited one fast food shop around 6th Jan. While sitting in the toilet, my hand accidently came in touch with some liquid on the toilet seat. I took a tissue paper n touch the corner with the liquid (with my hand at distance) and it feels like a sticky substrance. Now after this encounter , following incidents happen :

1- Second Week Start - Sore Throat (I was also eating apicy food in this time)
2- Third Week - I was wearing a suit for 20 hours and went to my friends marriage, after firworks ceremony, i feel some burning sensation on the intersection of the collar and skin - it was a red rash with small spots.
3- Eight Week - I have sever headace at the back of my head (i also have extreme pressure these days to save my relationship with my wife). I went to doctor yesterday and he has given me some medicine to make my brain nerves to get clear or somthing like that.

Keeping these three symptoms and my study on the internet, i am very worried that may be i am infected ? Please advice ?

You are worrying completely without any basis in HIV science. HIV is a fragile virus and is not passed from environmental surfaces such as toilet seats, cloths, doorknobs, toothbrushes or any of the many other items people seem to worry about.

Read our lesson on Transmission. This epidemic is going to be around for a long time to come so no one can afford to be ignorant about the real risks.

If you have symptoms you're concerned about that's something to discuss with your doctor. They have nothing to do with HIV. And you have no cause to get tested for HIV in relation to what you are worried about.

But if any liquid (i.e : Infected HIV SEMEN) on the toilet, and we come in contact, how much is the chance ?

The toilet seat could have been dripping with HIV+ semen and it still would not have been a risk. Period.
